I agree here 100%, especially the part about Carol. Readers who didnt like Storm with BP always pin her lack of importance to their marriage but they haven't been together since 2011. What's the excuse now that she hasn't gotten any focus in the xbooks ? can't blame tchalla there.

Nothing most didn’t already glean but some insight into the approach to create the conflict.

"Reasoning that she really doesn’t have the time to wait for T’Challa, Storm waits until the dead of night to set off to simply steal Skybreaker, even though she knows doing so could very well set off a war between Wakanda and Krakoa."

we should all voice our opinions on several social media platforms like facebook, IG, and especially twitter with how they keep playing with Storm in our faces and continue making her a sub par mutant even tho she's an Omega and Goddess.

Until very recently X-Men writers, editors, and artists were all straight white men. Women and POC characters clearly suffers for it. As Marvel becomes internally more diverse you’ll see huge changes. The X-office was all white when it ignored Storm’s marriage to the Black Panther. Look at Marauders. Look at the amazing job Vita did with Storm in one issue where the complexities of her relationship with the Wakandan royal family and the X-Men were acknowledged. By making Storm an integral part of X of Ssirds they are finally going somewhere with her. House Of X was a reboot of the X-Men and the focus was on the older generations of mutants coming together for their vision for mutantkind. Xavier, Magneto, Moira, Apocalypse, White Queen, Sinister. Now they are getting around to doing good things with other characters. Hellions has done a great job with Psylocke/Kwannon and Greycrow, an Asian and a Native American.

We should be happy the X-office acknowledged Storm can physically fight and is a warrior woman. She kicks butt. The Storm one shot was good too. And yes, they actually acknowledged her godhood and mystical ties.

absolutely. that's the irony of it all. the fans that only want to see her in the xmen then complain when she has no real or meaningful characterization but say hiw horrible bp is when that book has done a billion times more for the character than the xbooks. so very funny lol.

I'm not sure I follow you. storm fsns who hated the marriage blame her lack of inclusion within the xbooks due to being used in another book. this is the common argument I've seen from those fans and its why they champion this issue. but the stories the xwriters chose to write after the annulment had nothing to do wiyh them being married. the xwriters simply did not want to write any substantive stories that progressed her beyond her status quo within the books. in fact ehst stories after the marriage was annulled was she the focus that gave her development akin to what we saw in bp? not sure what the inconsequential conversation she had with nakia has to do with that point too.

I don't understand your point. A majority of the X writers are still straight white men. Marauders is normally written by one, they just brought Vita on to blow up the Storm/BP relationship. We've been told how important Storm is going to be, but that hasn't played out, and the story is, again, written and shepherded by straight white men. Almost all of the actual important characters are white men, and a couple white women. Greycrow is just going along with the flow in Hellions, and all of the important decisions and actions are made by others. If the minority characters just have to pick up table scraps in 2nd and 3rd string books instead of the headline titles, how is that any different than how the X office has been run for years?

At least someone is able to acknowledge this. Vita more than likely wanted to write this because I could tell from their whole vibe she probably didn't like T'Challa/Storm as a couple. That and her Shuri issues from her ongoing. But of course the X-office would jump at the opportunity to have a black (woman? person?) take the reins for the one issue that substantially focuses on "the blacks" and cause strife. If Duggan wrote what Vita did there'd be more push back and Marvel is smart enough now to realize that. That doesn't make it right though, because people ideally should be able to call out contrived writing whenever they see it, no matter who the writer is and the racial or sexual identity of the characters they're writing. It's all about marketing and this issue hit all the standard things that would excite the fanbase. A black writer? Check. A black woman "liberating" herself from a "toxic", incompetent black man? Check. Shitting on Black Panther and making Wakanda look bad? Check.

Actually, you kind of can. IIRC Gerry Duggan has specifically mentioned in interviews that he was told he wasn't able to do much with Storm until there were no longer plans for her in the BP book, and was excited to be able to do more with her.
