I love how seventies the people on the street look. They really are treating this like another movie.

I continue to enjoy this! Looks like Jor and Lara are truly alive, that’s the twist for the series and does pose an interesting challenge for Kal. Assuredly he will escape and defeat Brainiac but what happens to Kandor? To his parents? Are they going to die or will they remain trapped in stasis? Also Venditti’s take on Hackman Lex is great, really excited to see what he plans to do to get Supes back.

I liked that we got an extended conversation between Kal and Lara. Rarely do we get to see any version of the two exchange words.

Except for the Lara & Jor-El being alive bit, this mini seems to follow the general plot of the aborted Superman V script by Cary Bates.

    THANAGARIANS! WHAT! WHAT!

Sorry, but it didn't look like Keaton to me. Don't get me wrong, I do hope they are in the same universe. Maybe it's just the way he's drawn. IDK. Lara talking about the rain was so strange. You don't think of the Donner Krypton having any weather. Especially given it's Death Star type look. And seeing them interact among plants and animals is also unusual. They got Luthor down pat, though! Looking forward to more Easter eggs in future issues. Hopefully we'll see a GL.

I like how they’re exploring new ideas within the established universe, rather just a 1:1 retread because that would be both redundant but boring. Especially after the simplicity of the first issue.

As for Bruce, to me he looks more like early Roger Moore James Bond than Batman.

For me the most important question is still unanswered and is...

    WHERE IS OTIS!!???

Heh, right! Probably still rotting in prison after being Lex's fall guy. But he's GOT to show up in this thing!

    More importantly, where's Ms. Teschmacher?

By the way, Succession made a particularly sneaky Otisville joke a couple weeks ago.

When it comes to comics, one person's "fan-service" is another persons personal cannon. So by definition it's ALL fan service. Aren't we ALL fans?
SUPERMAN is the greatest fictional character ever created.
