Aside from the tech savvy part, we're getting a preflashpoint Cass characterisation as a big sister to Damian, which is what we should of got in the first place. Also yay for a piece of media that finally acknowledges that Cass is an big sister and is in fact older than Tim and Jason lol.

That burnside suit is a let down but if that's my biggest complaint i'm beyond happy and ecstatic.

That's Duke, not Damian (although the costume looks like Damian).

I feel like Babs is seen as the "big sis" of the Batfamily which is why it's part of Cass' characterization here.

I got to say, Leah Lewis would be a solid casting choice for a live action Cass.

Sadly, yeah. But I'll take anything that raises Cass' profile as a Batclan member

But if it's really a phony Cass, how does that raise real Cass' profile?

Real Cass will change to more closely resemble the phony version to take advantage of the increased profile.

It still shows Cassandra to a bigger audience. So, it would increase the profile of the character.

well I think it's the potential to give her that JL/Jhn Stewart effect, where a whole new generation will come up seeing Cass as their Batgirl. and seeing as it's a pre-school they can do it with low creative effort and can sidestep any potentially problematic characterization issues.
THE SIGNAL (Duke Thomas) is DC's secret shonen protagonist so I made him a fandom wiki

also, check out "The Signal Tape" a Duke Thomas fan project.

    currently following:
    • DC: Red Hood: The Hill
    • Marvel: TBD
    • Manga (Shonen/Seinen): One Piece, My Hero, Dandadan, Jujutsu Kaisen, Kaiju No. 8, Reincarnation of The Veteran Soldier, Oblivion Rouge, ORDEAL, The Breaker: Eternal Force

I feel like it would lead to the false impression that Cass is a more traditional Batgirl than she actually is though.

Even with the changes the DCAU made to John's character, it's not like they turned him into Hal or Guy to fill out the show dynamic.

It's like on the one hand you appreciate raising the character's profile, you just wish it didn't seem slightly disingenuous.

eh, I feel your overestimating the influence this will have. i use John as an example but that show had a very different demo so they had to take characterization into account. here, it's a show for toddlers, I don't think anyone is really expecting this to inform the characters much because the people watching aren't really look for or holding on to their characterizations. it's just a move to give lil asian (and black in Duke's case) toddlers a face that looks like theirs, while also getting these under utilized characters' name out there; these are both good things. I don't think it's disingenuous, it's practical. it's not like this is the show to do either Cass or Duke's comics journeys justice. they are the only canon characters of color in their respective mantles, they wanted to have this Batman show to have more diversity than they typically do, so they did the simplest way to have that.

Robin's also a triple composite - Damian's costume, Duke's face and name, and Dick or Tim's connection to Batman, being a Robin who isn't his son.

Cassandra Cain appeared today in Batman:Urban Legends 7. I was not completely sure but Batman confirms later that is her.
