Coates made it seems like Black Panther goes out of Wakanda only to have fun, but I disagree. The purpose of the Avengers is to protect the planet Earth from domestic or extraterrestrial threats. Since Wakanda is part of Earth, it just so happened that the protector of Wakanda can do both for everyone to benefit. Besides, ever since the incident between Klaw and T'Chaka, T'Challa wanted to prepare his country against external threats and forge himself to be ready against the unknown. Especially now, since he lives in an era where superpowered beings and aliens are in abundance compared to whatever threats previous wearer of the Black Panther mantle faced. Therefore, gaining experience through trials and errors by mingling with the mutates, mutants, , inhumans, martial artists or individuals with great intellect, whether by spying/gathering intelligence, fighting alongside or against them in order to remain a formidable warrior through mind and body at all time for the people of Wakanda is not so wrong of an approach in my opinion, but an extension of his duty.
Too much truth in this post.

I have really loved this book as of late. I looked and the last 6 or so issues have all been relatively great. The substance has never been a problem of course. The action and art accompanied has been great (although id still prefer an even greater scale during "invasions"). The pacing has been ALOT better. This was def a set up issue and it still felt relevant and had action vs feeling being dragged along. Shuri starting to talk like she realizes her weight class is pretty interesting/fun. Tetu's powers being scaled up also is a plus bc earlier he seemed a bit underwhelming power level wise. And of course Killmonger being resurrected provides the real villain we've needed.

Its just more of the same, Coates taking potshots at T'Challa and using Shuri now to shade throw and place blame on T'Challa for everything.and the isht he has her say clearly shows a bias or lack of knowledge of BP lore (probably a combination of both) and it's quite embarrassing how little Coates thinks of himself that is being projected onto T'Challa, as he has him get talked down to and scolded like a child and his spineless tchumpa the bland panther just comes off even more like a fool.

But Coates doesn't care, he obviously doesn't give a isht about T'Challa and it's always shown, and every issue he finds new creative ways to show us how he doesn't give a F if he drags T'Challa through the mud, so long as he gets to deliver his message ™

It's really unfortunate that e still have a long way to go till he gets let off the book

It's even more unfortunate that some people are still propping the book up by buying it.

The T'challa Coates wants to write doesn't exist in the canon. So he just makes **** up with his own poisoned thoughts of, "what would evil black american males do if they were king of Wakanda?" So you get conquest, rape, rash thinking, slavery, aggressive behavior, and running from your own duties to have fun... and the only way to control it is with a strong female voice talking him down. Or talking him up when he's depressed.

T'Coates isn't a proud, confident, polymath warrior king of a progressive advanced African nation. T'coates is just an analogy for a stereotypical hood dude. The toxic masculinity black american that runs the block, smashes hood rats, knocks them up, and the bounces on their responsibilties to that child. Get sent to prison, comes out of it depressed and "changed" only for a strong woman/baby momma to help him get back to his feet... so he can bounce and go right back to the hood life. That is what Coates wants to write. That is what he is seemingly ashamed of. So it leaks into his Wakanda stuff instead.

Coates made it seems like Black Panther goes out of Wakanda only to have fun, but I disagree.
I mean, ****, when is the last time T'challa had fun lol? Even when he is banging Storm, he seems to go into it or out of it depressed and talking about bad ****. Is she that boring in bed? Does dude get no post nut clarity?

I don't think Coates is ashamed, I think he's just writing what he knows, he's projecting a lot of his issues with black men onto T'challa, that and his cynicism. He's almost as cynical as Mark Millar. He's probably one of those people that thinks being cynical makes him smart. I abhor cynicism, it's intellectual inertia.

The only solace we can taje is that his bullisht hasn't poisoned T'Challa in the greater MU. Like the rest of the writers knows this bullisht and are not acknowledging it. Because frankly? This would be the most boring and lamest T'Challa to champion. Marvel should jist turn this into an else world story, so that the real T'Challa can be shown and a new writer (Redjack) can cone in abd out in real work on the mythos. Someone who recognizes and understands that T'Challa, not anyone else, drives the story, the action, everything. And everything that happens in the book is designed to elevate him above all else

As for your last bit T'Coates is clinically depressed. All the time, and is a frakking stiff, yet lacks a backbone. Even when he was trying to check Shuri I could see Coates was just phoning it in and he didn't believe none of that isht. Judt look at how T'Challa is always drawn, head down, defeated before isht even starts.

Only good thing has always been the art, Shuris new look, apparently the mcu design has finally made it to the comics abd T'Challa using the force push in new creative ways (likely artists choice and not anything Coates out), and killmonger looks cool but if rather his upgrades been Wakandan based instead of ripped fron a different franchise. Complete unoriginal and devoid of any care to mine the rich mythos

T'challa continues to be one of the most popular characters where the story is continually 'deconstruct deconstruct deconstruct' with no payoff. At all.

After large amounts of deconstruction and sadness and hell in his case, outright destruction, you are supposed to get that triumphant return, the victory at the end, that makes it all worth it.

We got close with the ending of Secret Wars... just for Coates to strip any potential victory away by having Wakanda be a mess and Shuri dead.

After 4 years of this current mess, I don't think there is an ending possible to make it all worth it. The last 12 issues would just have tobe T'challa decapitating A list villains lol

With Coates likely to continue the trend of T'Challa never beating Killmonger, even though I think there are at least 2 stories where he beats him, who do you guys think will kill him this time? It would be nice to see T'Challa being the one beat the big bad for once and not "delegate" the role to someone else like the last 2 seasons.

Nakia heroic sacrifice seems to fit.

And yes two stories. Iron Man Annual #5 and Over the Edge #6. not to mentio he was winning in Priest before getting distracted. Wasn't like he was saved at the last second like Hudlin or McGregor.

Well I didn't see that coming. Using the Outsiders as the army... same outsiders dude murder/death/killed as they crossed over in season 2 lol.

So... wonder what t'challa is giving up to make this happen. Jabari lands? Panther Island?
