Yes we are. In fact, they all took place within 10 years, considering none of those started before the 1980s.

It's on average five years in comic book time to 20 years in real time, but it gradually gets slower, in the early 60s time passed as it does in reality, by the end of the decade things slowed down, and apparently everything between the launch of Runaways vol 1 and the current vol 5 is only two years, and it's been one year since Secret Wars (mainly due to the eight month time skip) so everything from 2005 to 2015 is one single year.

I still don't buy the timeline established by the current Runaways book. Not when so many young characters created in the early 2000s clearly have aged more than one or two years from 2005 'till now: the Young Avengers, Shuri, Amadeus Cho, Laura Kinney, New X-Men/Academy X... This time jump only seems to apply to the Runaways, so I'd say they are the ones with the wrong canon here.

Shuri? If anything, she's been de-aged for movie synergy. Also Laura was part of the New X-Men when it relaunched after House of M/Decimation, so you technically didn't need to mention her.

Young Avengers actually supports Runaways' timeline, as Cassie has only aged up from 14 at the start of that book to 16 at the time of Scott and Nadia's Ant-Man and the Wasp (Scott mentioned that Cassie was the same age as 16 year old Nadia).

Wait, how old are Kamala and Miles? I know she started as a 16 year old, but she must be at least 17 or 18 by now. Not only has the civil war 2 happened, but also Kamala's brother has a child know. While it happened relatively fast, she would still have had to age. I assume 2 years have past.

I mean it doesn't matter really, cause Kamala's Law is for 21 and below, so it still applies to her. However, now that I think about it, she must still be at 17 at least cause her parents still act like shes underage...age is such a strange thing in comics haha.
    Pulls:

Cassie's aging was messed up by her dying, though. It's not clear for how long she stayed dead in-universe and if she was brought back with the exact same age as before, so there is at least a canon explanation for her aging slower as compared to the rest of the Young Avengers. You can't really explain that with Kate, who canonically turned 21, meaning she aged five years since 2005. Al Ewing and Anthony Oliveira have also mentioned Billy and Teddy being 21, so it's pretty safe to assume the entire team other than Cassie have entered their 20s now, which greatly contradicts the Runaways timeline.

Pretty sure both Miles and Kamala are at the 17-18 range. Saladin made a joke about keeping Miles' actual age vague in his birthday issue but he's got to at least be a junior in high school by now.

And I think Kamala's book has had her talking about looking at colleges recently.

Is Sam the same age as them or younger? I always forget.

Sam's a couple of years younger, was 14 when he debuted.

And that wasn't Kamala's book, it was the second Marvel Rising mini. Squirrel Girl gave Kamala and Miles a tour of ESU.

And that's true, Kamala becoming an Aunt, and her sister-in-law only becoming pregnant after Secret Wars, almost certainly makes her two years older than when she debuted, considering the eight month Secret Wars timeskip and the nine month pregnancy. It's likely that both Kamala and Miles (who became a brother recently) are seniors.

The writer of YA vol 2 screwed up. There's no way it's been five years, especially BEFORE Secret Wars. That would contradict a lot more than just Runaways. Including Amazing Spider-Man. YA vol 1's writer made a massive mistake in the first place with Wiccan, Speed, and Hulkling's ages anyway - Hulkling's origin had to be retconned as time travel in Empyre.

That begs the question. Will we see both Miles and Kamala goes to college in 2021? Or will they be stuck in last year if high school for the foreseeable future? Could be interesting to see what happens to the Champions if Kamala has to deal with college.

This makes me realize that despite the fact that Sam technically existed longer than Kamala, because of his position (particularly due to a lack of an ongoing). He's been treated as still a kid relative to the others. He's been through some serious stuff with legit feats of his on, and so he shouldn't be viewed that way. But he seems to be.

One of the most recent points to Sam's age was in Loveness' and Perez's far-too-short-lived ongoing, where Sam's mom commented that she couldn't wait for Sam to turn from 15 to 16 so he could start driving himself (and his then new love interest) around. Feel like he'd be seen/portrayed as 17-ish by now, too, if he still had his ongoing. (In fact, Sam's Ultimate Spider-Man self was 16-17 to start, but was made younger in the comics that chronological debuted first due to the difference in animation and comic book turnarounds..)

Isn’t Luke And Jessica’s daughter Dani portrayed as like 4 years old now.

I'd expect the current status quo of them attending Coles Academic and Brooklyn Visions to remain for the remainder of Saladin Ahmed's runs on the two. Maybe they'd both end with high school graduation?

I hope you've all read issue 1 by now, as CBR just posted an article that spoils the ending in the url.

I wonder will comic Kamala’s graduation coincide with Disney + Kamala’s graduation.
