From Lolita to Leader: KITTY PRYDE/PROFESSOR K Appreciation

The story in UNCANNY XMEN #168 was titled "PROFESSOR X IS A JERK!"
Pictured below, the issue's memorable splash page by Paul Smith and Bob Wiacek.

But this wasn't the story's original title!
Writer Chris Claremont originally called this story "PROFESSOR X IS A PUTZ!"
But this was vetoed on the grounds that "PUTZ" is a Yiddish word for "PENIS," and Marvel didn't want to call one of their characters a "PENIS" so prominently -- even if it was in Yiddish!
So the word was changed to the more generic put-down "JERK!" Oy vey!

My guess is both Kitty and Star Lord stay on earth. I believe Star Lord will be in New York for his Solo. Just an educated guess. Now with Kitty...Who knows.

I was listening to Claremont interview where he said a few months back they pitched an Excalibur series to Marvel and Marvel said it would be too expensive. Not saying anything like that will happen but if there was any time to re start that i couldn't think of a better time then now. Only sticky point is Starkat but i think they could do a long distance if another Excalibur happened.

Right now Captain Britain and Meggan really are mia from the marvel universe. Rachael Grey is back. Kurt is well unsettled to say the least between the teams. and Kitty who knows. But if Kitty winds up back on earth idk. Point is you likely wouldn't have a better time to do another one based on where the original 5 in Excalibur are at right now. Not gonna happen but thats not really my point.

Right now Captain Britain and Meggan really are mia from the marvel universe.

They're still running Braddock Academy, as established in Avengers Arena and Infinity: The Hunt. Confirmed in the last issue of All-New Inhumans, when Luna is revealed to have dropped out of the school.
