Really? IMO they're all strength/flight/speed/heat ray, or in Thor's case, electricity. No shrinking or intangibility or mental powers or anything outside the standard like that.

This may be odd, but I always felt like Iron Man could use some kind of extra power to distinguish himself from the 1000 other flying bricks

I feel Aaron's entire Marvel career is riding off of the brief first storyline with Gorr (and his Wolverine and the X-Men run which essentially gave him Thor), everything after that has been just the worst. I put Aaron in a makeshift group of writers that include Aaron himself, Fraction, Pak, and Bendis (I see as the father of the group); they all similarly started off writing something interesting and just devolved into writing the most bland and sometimes insulting comics Marvel has put out in the past 20 years. I don't know if the extra power over the edit hurt their work, they stretched themselves too thin (a worry of mine with Ewing), they just ran out of creative steam, or they caught the Starlin wherein they inserted themselves too much into their work, or perhaps it was a combo of multiple aspects. It reminds me of a worse version of what happened to some Marvel books around '94-'96 where there was a glut of bland generic work being put out by a handful of writers. The main difference between these groups though is at least the writers of the 90's books had a real editorial department to keep things from getting too out of hand.

His movie is coming out at the end of next year, you'd have to think they'd want one TPB on the stands by the time that comes out.
It's likely he's changing the roster soon. Immortal Hulk is about to end too so he might be back with the Avengers and Johnny is GR again so...I dunno.

I fear his crew will be his favorites and still not be a traditional crew.

He was with the crew with Pak, Fraction, Bendis and Hickman as the next stage of Marvel and I think people rode that train to now. Granted his Thor is his highlight but name a big moment from his runs on Hulk or Wolverine.

    Yeah, not much.

There's a reason many people still reading it are just counting the days and hoping Heroes Reborn bombs.

I feel when Immortal Hulk ends he'll get pulled into Ewing's Defenders. The same with Johnny and Danny to finish off the story Brisson started for them.
I wonder if Brisson would get Hulk. That guy is actually good with solo stories.

I think they already finished the Brisson story with that King in Black tie-in

I am a Marvel fan preferably cosmic storylines, especially Thanos or Dark Phoenix related, when both the Avengers and the X-Men are involved count me in, loved the original Uncanny Avengers series.
Not a fan of any of the new characters.

Y'know, I don't particularly like this idea that the Avengers need to have a "big 3". IMHO, it diminishes a lot of the characters that gave so much of their lives to the team (Hank Pym, Wasp, Hawkeye, Vision, etc...).

    Peace

Especially since the "Big 3" also get their own books.

I like the Big 3 but preferably with a better roster.

Don't get me wrong. It's not that I don't like the "Big 3", and don't want them in the team. It's the current view that they "must" be in all the line-ups to give it credibility (something that has been going on pratically since the first Avengers movie). I like the rotation of the members of the team, and, as Iron Man once said, the teams are too small to demand representation (and no, I don't intend to make this about Identity politics. I'm just focussing on the characters themselves). If you kill three slots with the big 3, and fill, at least two others with the current popular representation characters (Black Panther and Capt Marvel), all of them, as mentioned, with their own books, you don't get much wiggle room. It may have worked with DC and the magnificent & line-up (only for a while, IMHO), but I don't see it working for the Avengers. You get no worthwhile character development.

    Peace

August 14th. Not May 1st like Google seems to think (that's when it would've been if not for COVID).

Yeah, more diversity of demographics as well as personality and superpowers
