Thanks for posting these preview pics! This is the definitely the best Gambit has looked in Mr & Mrs. X. The artist Bazaldua really excels in these action panels. Remy is both powerful and smart in these panels. Love him tricking Longshot by leaving the cards on the ground and then blowing them up, followed by using a full deck of cards to blow him up. This is some good stuff.

I forgot to mention that this reminds of back in the day when Gambit used a full deck of cards to kick Gladiator's ass. Definitely Remy at his peak. It's good to see Bazaldua and Thompson use such a great action moment as reference. This fight is definitely a callback/tribute to that.

Yeah, I immediatly thought of it, too. Just I didn't recall who was his oponent.

Tricky move by leaving the cards on the ground and then blowing them up was my favourite part of it.

Yeah. I noticed that too. I hope Longhsot will survive this experience, lol.

Well, Remy told that he don`t want to hurt him so definetely charged not for full blast.

Don't doubt it. Not by a long shot

It is supposed that he's kind of fragile because of his hollow bones, but he has survived much worse experiences. Plus, he's got a healing factor.

I really liked that move as well. Shows how crafty Gambit can be in a fight and it shows off his ability to delay the charge and explosion of an object. I really like how smart and quick-witted Gambit appears in this fight with Longshot. Using the whole deck of cards to blow up Longshot is my favorite part.

Longshot will definitely survive the fight plus he is supposed to be very lucky. I don't think Thompson would kill him off and no way Mojo would want one of his "star actors" to be wiped out. I think Longshot will probably only appear in this issue though. However, this might be all we see of Longshot or maybe he'll appear in what appears to be the Star Wars themed Mojo story that is also a part of this issue. There was that preview pic of Remy and Rogue about to kiss where they were wearing the exact same clothes as Han Solo and Princess Leia so I assume there's also going to be a Star Wars parody in MMX #8.

This is the high-fantasy, roguish Gambit that I've always wanted to see. Super excited for this

Cool sequence there for Gambit ruined by the fact that he is fighting another dude for Rogue's affection. Dust hasn't even settled on the marriage and he has already had to compete for Rogue with Deadpool, Mags and now Longshot. Yawn! Wonder who Rogue will make out with next. Is Sentry or Human Torch available?

There is a great porn parody hidden in this story with all the paramours of Rogue that have already appeared in this comic.

It won’t be great until someone asks the immortal question “Are you serious, right in front of my salad?”

I'm not liking Longshots short straight hair. His hair needs to be wild. But Gambit looks good. These pages are amusing, though. Anybody else remember the theory that Gambit and Longshot were one in the same? I think it was that Gambit was the result of Longshot going through the siege perilous? I'm not sure, though. My memory is getting fuzzy in my old age. :-p

Oscar Bazaldua isn't a bad a artist especially when it comes to his action panels but he can't draw Remy's face that well. The goatee Remy he's drawn in issue 8 is the best Remy has looked in MMX. The cover artist for MMX, Terry Dodson, really can't draw Gambit. All of Dodson's Gambits on the covers have looked pretty awful except for his Gambit on the cover of MMX #10.
I definitely wouldn't say no to this. I was just in the Mike Deodato thread. I was wondering... had he ever done Gambit? His newer grittier style would definitely work for him.

Would be nice if Rogue actually was shown to care about Gambit. It's the Rogue/boyfriend or fling tour ... let it roll.
