There's definitely potential for Gabriel to get involved in these shenanigans somehow. Kinda criminal for him to not be even aware of any of it.

I don't think I want them to just have him "inevitably revert" into his past self but... yeah. Something

Gabriel will get involved in a couple of months. March's X-Men issues will be about the NM bringing trouble related to the Shi'Ar and the Brood to Earth and Gabriel will show up. I'm curious to see how Gladiator and the others will react to him.

2nd best comic of the day. Reis's art has really grown on me as well. I didn't care much for his style in issue 1 but he won me over this issue, specifically the scene with Gladiator looking out the window at the cityscape. Hickman is just killing it with the dialogue here, it is so different from his X-Men book but I find myself really enjoying both. Magik wins the day however, she was HBIC.

If Hickman and Reis were doing every issue of NM, it would be hard to beat as the best DoX title.

A lot of humor in this issue but I would have preferred more action. Still a fantastic issue and a cliff-hanger at the end. Hickman's writing is really refreshing and interesting. Magik is badass in this issue.

The action scenes could have stretched into next issue instead of just contained in this issue. After all, the aliens are commandos who would have given the New Mutants a good fight instead of being taken out so easily.

Next issue is back to arrgh.... Glob and gang again.
