I didn't count 1 and 4 since I was focusing on the era they called themselves team-mates. Emma was an antagonist just like Mags when #1 went down.

Well I have to give you one thing, youre right that if Cyclops was put into the positions that Storm often finds herself in, fans would riot ... (& to me, in the 'original' stories Scott and Cyclops were seen as equals)

Jean Grey has died 43 times
Kitty Pryde died, came back, was shot into space, came back.
Nightcrawler has died three times.
Cable has died five times.
Magneto swapped teams approximately eight times, give or take.
Wakanda has been destroyed four times.
Atlantis destroyed three times.
Iron Man killed seven times.

And of that time... Emma was a villain for 12 years. And a hero (who saved Storm's life at least twice) for 26.

This is honestly why I think Storm joined the team, just to make sure that Emma stays on the up and up. To me that is something that can be very interesting. Either way I can't wait to read this book as I love the majority of the roster.

I honestly would be upset if they kill Jean again any time soon. She's back, I am happy she's back, and they damn well better not kill her off again. There is no good reason to kill Jean off going forward, she isn't a candidate for a shock value death, plus shock value deaths are a horrible writing trope. Of course that was the go to for Rosenberg since he is a horrible writer.

Anyway, I am glad Jean is alive and well.

I am happy that Storm gets to be on a team book this fall, and I think this is going to be one of the bigger sellers for the X-Men line.

The exact number of times she died during Endsong is anywhere between 35 and 45, so 43 is a safe bet all things considered.

I'm a casual fan at all the people involved here, except Bobby and Pyro (i'm neutral toward then), but i'm not that interested in the premise, plus why Marauders?. Duggan is good, so i would check the first issue at least.

As for the apparent Storm/Emma drama, i'm sure that they won't be exactly friends (Emma pretty has earned her distrust after her last two stuns and maybe more), so i expect a lot vitrol and insults while doing a competent job on the field, nwither of then are petty enough to let their personal bias screw the job.

I opt not to believe that the panel-by-panel "deaths" in Endsong were actual deaths, and were instead near death experiences where the Phoenix near-instantaneously healed the wounds. It hurts my head less.

I'm just going to not respond anymore to the Emma vs. Storm stuff.

Anyway, I wonder what dynamic Pyro will add and if Bobby/Pyro get together or are together it should be interesting given his history with Kitty. The one character i'm having a hard time speculating on is Bishop. He's close to Storm and is on great terms with the other X-men, also appearing in Sina's iceman, but he's the one member i can't pinpoint what's in it for him other than his past as a detective.
