Inspired by the HEATED discussion about the Crucible (Melody vs. Sofia) earlier this week (yesterday?) I dug into my New X-Men omnibus and good golly do I miss those earliest and most promising dynamics between Julian and Sofia. They were such a precious pairing, and holy cats that speech that Julian in the cafeteria still gut punches me in the feels.

I miss you fully-handed & pre-trauma Julian.
I miss you my hopeful & aerokientic Sofia.

Sorry Laura fans. After revisiting those tales of yesteryear, so too have my romantic allegiances. Sofia + Julian = <3

As a fellow Laura fan I give Sofia and Julian my wholeheart blessing, may they reconcile and happily live on Krakoa.
I like the New X-Men story, but it would be nice for them to find each other after so many years, and maybe try again.
As for Laura I feel it’s in the past, best that might happen is for them to talk about it and maybe just be friends.

Never quite got the appeal...and I've read those issues a dozen times over. Oh well.

Chock it up to my entry point being KYOST but oh well. I think Julian ought to worry about getting panel time with actual development before he gets back into the dating scene.

And though my shipper heart years for more Julian/Laura (I'll always have my untold stories in the Old Woman Lauraverse before Julian died in the Doomwar), I'm fine right now with him just rolling solo.

He's changed a lot (for good and ill) since the Sofia days. And quiet frankly I don't see them reconnecting unless Marvel wants to give him some honest to god therapy....but we all know that ain't gunna happen.
