Who could PASS The Crucible? (X-Men #7 spoilers!)

I do not understand very well the question. "Survive" implies that you surrender or that you won over Apocalypse? Because not even the Captain America could win Apocalypse in a sword duel.

Seems to me less about someone being able to defend themselves and more about them wanting badly enough to have powers restored. I'm sure there are a few people on that list that might be okay with being human.

You do not need to win Apocalypse, that's impossible. You just need not to give up. Anyway, Prodigy probably knows fencing due to being close to Betsy and Kurt, so he must have fought better than most.

The problem with the Decimation now, is that all the interesting mutants were long ago restored and this list is a sad sac of z-listers, except maybe Scanner & King Bedlam.

The reason Melofy Guthrie was chosen, is because of her last name and interactions with her family during the issue.
