What do YOU think is more likely: Obama on SCOTUS or Medicare For All? Crazy as it sounds, I'd say the former. Between Republicans and insurance companies, they'd fight M4A to their collective dying breath.

I support medicare for all. It is not my wedge issue, but I support it.

Sorry if that takes all the steam out of the rest of your silly argument.

On this date in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, as well as 2019, “Crazy/Stupid Republican of the Day posted profiles of Tom Kirby, of the Georgia House of Representatives, who supports the drug testing of welfare recipients, legalizing firearms in bars and college campuses, supporting bills to allow state officials to deny marriage licenses to LGBT citizens, and his backing of the unconstitutional idea to put monuments of the Ten Commandments in government buildings… and that’s not even the crazy part. That would be Kirby’s sponsorship of HB 287, a bill to prevent experimentations with human embryos and animal tissue. While no one anywhere was thinking about conducting such a study, but Kirby specified a scenario where human/jellyfish hybrid embyros might be created that would “glow in the dark”. He also voted to authorize the concealed carry of firearms on college campuses, because it’s not like that could lead to a mass shooting.

In spite of Kirby’s weird stance on potential mad science that isn’t even being suggested, he was allowed to run for re-election in 2018 completely unopposed. Since we last covered him, he has voted for Georgia Republicans’ attempts at passing a fetal heartbeat ban that would effectively end all abortion at six weeks, and a bill to try and permit Georgia teachers from teaching biblical classes in high schools.

We’re hoping that 2020 is the year Kirby finally gets a challenger and gets a swift boot in his hind end to launch him out of office from the voters in his district.

It’s all about the long con with the GOP, letting one bill pass is a temporary setback, but a hostile Supreme Court is a persistent thorn that will a permanent obstacle to future policy.

They couldn’t stop Obama’s appointment any more than we could stop Kavanaugh’s though. They have more ways to stop a bill.

I’ll believe it when I see it, I don’t see much point putting faith in this possibility just given the unbelievable hostility the GOP has for Obama and the moderate preference for placating them rather than taking them head on.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was on Seth Meyers last night.

AOC is one of Bernie's biggest supporters. However, she encouraged people to unite behind whomever the Democratic nominee is.

It's funny because despite running slightly right of Hillary in 2016, Biden would probably preside over the most progressive administration in US history. Maybe not the most progressive possible, but definitely the most so far. That's just the way the winds are blowing, an old school politician like Biden knows how to lean into that. You just gotta get the people in his ear to push him in the right direction. Obama is already there, that's a great start. Warren will probably join up too.

Meanwhile Bernie wants positive change but may not necessarily be able to get it because he's overreaching (in the US system at least) and whilst his goals are noble they also unsettle people due to how radical it sounds and how shaky it seems, not helped ny his less reliable voter base.
Also, Biden is too buddy buddy with his congressional colleagues and expects the Republicans to come around. Sanders isolates himself and renders himself ineffective due to his lack of ability to build alliances beyond his immediate political spectrum.

The Democratic Party gives no shits about black folks. The continued silence on so many issues that affect us Hispanic, and Native Americans is astounding.
That's why People like Pete speak in flowery terms and they run on identity. They speak and say nothing, and on the whole alot of the black community has Stockholm syndrome when it comes to elections.

We know the Republicans are fuck nuts evil. But at least the Democrats give us lip service. So we often side with the devil. Even though he doesn't give a shit about us.

Tami mentioned Bernie being an abuser to Warren and was way out of line for that shit. But that's how many Black's view moderate Democrats.

Y'all blamed us when Hillary lost last time, and will blame us when identifying loses this time if he's the nominee.

Behind wall. But it sounds like when Bernie loses, you will sit it out.

He's from Scranton. So I think PA is his.
