    Rick Remender would be an excellent choice to write Thor.

    The way he handled Thor during his Uncanny Avengers run was amazing, and his use of Odin in just three pages was better than anything Aaron has written for Odin.

    Loved his Thor in UA. I thought that was a great time for Thor with Remender and God of Thunder being so good.

    Reading the early issues I'm really liking the Tales of Asgard section, so you get a present day Thor story then a story into Thor's or Asgard's past. I'm curious, having not read the current comics recently I know that TOA isn't around obviously, but is the structure still the same? I mean having a flashback story in addition to the main story. Or is it more like having a flashback but it affects the plot of the main story.

    Talking Happy Thor's Day!

    Thor #343 May 1984
    "If I Should Die Before I Wake...!"
    Fafnir is in New York on a rampage, screaming for the Son of Odin, and begins destroying buildings;
    Thor is unaware of what's going on because he's in Antarctica with Eilif;
    Thor tells him that he is proud of his reckless courage, but the granting of Valhalla is beyond him;
    Only Odin and the Valkyries can decide who sits in that realm;

    But Thor tells him that for old times sake, he will take Eilif's fate in his hands;
    For Fafnir awaits him in New York and he would take Eilif with him;
    Thor then calls to Odin to grant him a sign that Eilif be his shield bearer;
    After half an hour, out of nowhere, flies Cloud rider's

    and Thor's own chariot pulled by Toothgnasher and Toothgrinder;

    Script and art by Walter Simonson

    I think Saladin Ahmed might do a good job on Thor. I really liked his Black Bolt run, and I haven't heard anything bad about his run on Miles Morales or Ms. Marvel so far.

    Hmm...I'd be interested in reading Ahmed's take on Thor .

    but trust us, you won’t want to miss this issue, which is the kickoff of Jason Aaron’s final Thor story!

    more like final destruction.

    good thing I don't read it anymore.

    So, I've never read Simmonson's Thor (I know, I know, Im a terrible person!) but I'm looking to grab a trade. What should I pick up?

    What do you think Thor will find in this preview of War of the Realms #5?

    Oh yeah...well, it was Unworthy Thor and he had to write Jane as Thor, so it's not as surprising .

    Probably the paperback volumes are the more affordable way of collecting them. I just saw some still on Amazon.

    To be fair, it wasn't like Waid could go against the sheer stupidity of Secret Empire.

    Blame Spencer for writing it, and Aaron for allowing it first
