It all sounds like foreshadowing because Kurt's line to Remy was a headscratcher, Rogue hasn't really done anything horribly wrong to Gambit, yes, the dance with Erik in front of him was inconsiderate, but her joining Magneto in war is something that would put her at odds against him and her teammates (as Magneto told her in ep 2). Lenore is voice acting for season 2, so she's probably an X-Man at the very beginning of season 2 (and at the end of season 1). But I'm starting to think she'll screw up again this season and would need to earn back their trust.
Kurt's line was very very strange: it had no context. I read it later as a hint to viewers that Kurt's words had an effect on Remy, explaining why he so maturely bowed out when Rogue broke up with him, but it could be an allusion to something else too. Either way, it came out of nowhere.

I genuinely did not like the way they played out the Rogneto storyline--not just because I hate it with a passion for obvious reasons, but also the way it played out. It did make Rogue look wishy washy. I know they weren't "official" (whatever that meant in this context), but that doesn't mean justifying an emotional affair with someone else in secret: they were clearly in some kind of relationship. Anyone could see that. They should have had a scene between Rogue and Remy before episode 5 where Rogue admits to being interested in Mags, but needing time to sort things out, then have the break up scene in episode 5, only to reverse it at the dance. I've already made my grievances known about the absurdity of that dance, so I won't go over that again.

There wasn't much Romy in this series: the basketball intro scene, the balcony scene, Rogue winking at Gambit at the Genosha concert (I think, right? I didn't imagine that, LOL?). For DeMayo stating they were the OTP, he sure had a funny way of showing it. *rolls eyes*

    Lenore told keep watching.
Chris told that Cable is the only one who can save Gambit.

Season 1 is very fast and a lot of things happening in every episode.
I know that people throw away time travel theory after ep8 but Forge still hadn't seen Cable's tech.
I think that Forge/Beast/Cable will find some solution and we will get our Gambit/Rogue dance in ep10.

I agree that all is coming that X-Men will fight Magneto after defeated Bastion but it is such a cliche already. X-Men already fought Mags as second boss after villain defeat in X2, DOFP, First Class, also he was main villain in X1, X3 and sub boss in Apocalypse. Fighting Mags is not exciting anymore.

Did I miss something in the last episode where everyone knew Magneto was alive again? Because Wolverine says: “Magneto’s started a war.” How did he know the blackout was caused by Magneto? I don’t remember a scene where Morph says: “Did you hear on the news? Magneto was spotted flying over Australia in his underwear!”

The lights go out and everyone is just “Oh, guess Magneto’s not dead.”

I'm fascinated about the miscues/comments...that DeMayo? said Storm and Cyclops would lead the X-Men. Unless that's happening at end of season when Storm returns. The other one was the Sci Mag preview where he says Rogue is the mascot. I felt Rogue has done much more than that this season. and WAAAYY back in 2022? The series summary was that Scott/Jean and Rogue/Gambit will be facing a new world of intolerance, so I was thinking we would have two exclusive couples on the show (that there would be no triangles)

I'm also tickled that the only Rogue fans that could be happy were folks who liked both Rogneto and Romy. There's a huge Twitter acct that was happy with either, but now she is more Romy with what happened to Gambit and that Rogneto flashback scenes looked too much like grooming.

I'm leaning toward Remy/Deathbit 's evil fuel against both Magneto and Rogue both since someone here reminded Remy doesn't know Anna chose him.

Probably the best part was their action scene when they went on the attack against the Sentinels in ep 5 to save the Morlocks, Rogue felt content with choosing Remy and were playful again with a couple of quips with smiles on their faces, and made the audience know that it felt right that they were together for that very brief moment.

Truth be told, in XTAS they had VERY little relationship development in 5 seasons it was all about Rogue brushing him off but fretting over him whenever he was in trouble (even in the slightest way). There were some frustrating episodes like the "Nightcralwer" ep were Rogue and Gambit could've had some real development at the ski resort but instead they threw Wolverine in there and Gambit was knocked out for the majority of the episode, Gambit should've played Wolverine's role. Overall a lot of small moments instead of giving us a bit more meat.
I wonder about that route too, if Remy would just stay the "nonprimary story" supportive action character with just a few lines like Wolverine (and maybe even Beast). Though I feel that sidelines Wolverine as a reaction to all the dominance he had in last 3 decades.

Someone here mentioned the behind the scenes book about XTAS and that Gambit was to stay the ladies man role thru the series and nothing more (honestly I thought it was cuz it was just easier to keep him that way ) . I know this sounds corny, but I didn't think XMen 97 literally meant FIVE years had past and each season = one year passing!

I dunno if anyone's mentioned this but when was Season 2 approved? When they did season 1 was there expected to be cliffhangers, or that the final 10th episode was written as if there would be no continuation? Or rewrites occurred when the 2nd season was renewed.

And with DeMayo out for season 3 ( mentioned this on the main thread too) we could be seeing changes ie. Scott/Jean over and next showrunner wanting Romy front and center possibly. Like how writers change storylines based on their whim and not readers' whims. example: late 1980s John Byrne? tore Vision and Scarlet Witch apart because he hated them together.

I have a feeling there may not be a happy ending at all this season. If Bastion wins, Bishop or Cable will have to go back to 1959 and basically undo the ending of the episode "One Man's Worth" and reset the entire timeline into the "Age of Apocalypse" and that's our season 2

And, of course, the Marquez art was top tier.
Yeah, I liked it a lot. The art was superb and it was a good showing for Jubilee. She felt in character. That little mention about dragons was a nice acknowledgement that she's still at least still got Shogo on her mind, since I'd assume he's staying MIA for the foreseeable future (proving as usual that superhero comics just plain hates dealing with mothers and kids and integrating them into stories ... hope y'all can hear my deeply tired sighs ...)

But yeah ... I am impatient for August now and excited to see what Gail has in store for us.

And especially after the turn that X-Men'97 has taken for Rogue and Gambit now. My enthusiasm for finishing out the season is hanging by a thread, especially if we're going to end it with Gambit either still dead or turned into Deathbit and/or Rogue taking sides with Magneto. All of that makes me just tired and annoyed and feeling robbed of the good time I'd been having with this show. It feels like they're just going to stick obstacle after obstacle in front of the two characters I actually want to see together and string us along with false promises of an OTP they don't intend to actually deliver. XTAS got frustrating because we never got any forward movement on their relationship, but at least we got little bits of enjoyment between the two them and could tell they were in love. Rogneto has been insulting enough that they introduced it and glossed over much of what made it gross, but then killing off Remy and then taunting us that it's permanent is kind of a last straw. Especially given that Remy has never had any kind of "permanent" death in any of the source material.

Why the hell do I want to come back for a second season of this if they leave Romy fans in absolute misery after the next two episodes? They better damn well fix it because misery porn isn't why I enjoy X-Men and definitely not what I signed up for. In a science fiction show with time travel, magic, alien technology, etc it is absolutely a choice to decide that a character is "permanently" dead and I'm 100% not interested in my favorite character being used as a stand in for real world suffering in order to be "taught a lesson".

I know, right?! All things being equal, it would've been overwhelmingly traumatic (IMHO):
    "Good-bye. Good luck. Good riddance."

Lenore says "keep the faith" a lot since ep 5, that's what I'm mainly clinging onto. There are other plausible theories out there, but it's mainly Lenore and the fact that she and AJ were voice acting together last year (for season 2), logically you don't bring over 2 voice actors to the studio for just throw-away lines. Chris' comments in that interview confused me because Beau wrote off time-travel (he also confirmed that Bishop isn't returning this season). Unless Cable helps save Gambit in the present? (1997).

Beau says Gambit's not coming back via time-travel but he gives cryptic answers when it comes to the Deathbit questions. Deathbit could also mean a Sinister mutant experiment which he teases in ep 8 (that's my hope).

I can't make up my mind about who draws my favorite Rogue.

Marquez draws her drop dead gorgeous but it's also the most real version. She looks like a real person, one you might encounter.
Bachello draws a great Rogue but she is heavily stylized, like his work is.
Jim Lee drew her great too, but she was also on the younger side here when he drew her.
Lee Weeks drew her like Jim Lee does but it arguable better. At least according to me.

Atm it's Marquez. He draws her so well it's borderline illegal.

Oh Remy and Logan is great too but his Rogue is just *chef kiss.
