The presidential primary season is upon us and the Democratic nominees are neck and neck! The results from Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, and South Carolina are in the books, with Senator Robert Kelly and Secretary of Mutant Affairs Henry McCoy emerging with roughly similar delegate counts. With “Super Tuesday” approaching on March 1, this is one of the most critical junctures of the election cycle - and, unfortunately for Beast, the worst time for a new controversy to erupt! The Friends of Humanity Super PAC has released "evidence" linking Beast's longtime associate Ororo "Storm" Munroe to climate change! The allegations connect her control of the weather to the recent uptick in global warming. Of course, the X-Men know this isn't true - but they can't afford to look like climate change deniers at a time when environmentally-minded voters are heading to the polls! With Beast's science and Storm's powers, however, there just might be a way to clear her name. Out of the way Ozone Layer, here comes the all new, all different X-zone Layer!
Meanwhile, the threat of the Mutant Unified State in Krakoa (MUSIK) looms large on the world stage, causing great fear of mutant refugees. When a few ne'er-do-well children of the atom go on a crime spree in Germany at just the wrong time, it's up to that country's greatest hero to return home and stop them from giving anti-mutant bigots precisely the ammunition they need. Blindfold though has been manipulated enough and can sense the tugging of the web, which is why she has sent Forge into the future to fetch her vengeance. Blindfold will show them all just how powerful she really is when pushed, especially with the zodiac Key in her possession! Meanwhile Bucky and Bishop pick around the ruins of another devastated Earth, trying to find out the cause of this apocalypse and prevent it before it ever comes to pass. This one could be difficult though as they unearth a civil war amongst SHIELD factions that brought an Earth scouring vicious war to everyone's door. What caused SHIELD to slit their own throats? And what did the mutants have to do with it?
