I don't think I could be less excited for this event. It seems like a placeholder for whatever comes next and I can't stand the current depiction of Amanda Waller and how every single book has to tie into her plot and guest star Peacemaker.

Isn’t everything a placeholder for what comes next

In the current era of DC, yes. They don't really care about making each story work on its own, so they're in a constant state of teasing the future as if the future will be more exciting.
It's how we get titles like Infinite Frontier, Shadow War, Dark Crisis...

This absolute power seems to be DC finally commiting to a no mutants plot. Now would be an excellent time to pull Earth-m heroes like static over here.

Diana and Damian team-up is probably the last thing I expected.

If they change it this year then DC would have had 5 different logos over the last 20 years lol.

I can't help but think that they keep doing it is because each new Warner/DC regime wants to signal they are starting anew with DC.

Zaslav openly said, that previous regime messed up a lot with DC, so it's definitely this.

Wonder Woman and Damian? There's a team-up I certainly never needed or wanted.

After Dark Crisis, I didn't think DC could come up with a crossover event that sounded less appealing. Yet here we are with Absolute Power.

Heroes temporarily losing their powers or having them stolen is to the superhero genre what the third act break-up/misunderstanding is to rom-coms.
It's truly remarkable the extent at which DC Comics makes being a Wonder Woman fan an endurance test.

Huh so that solicit amusingly spoils the ending of Suicide Squad Dream Team.

    spoilers:
Looks like Dreamer will remain under Waller's clutches when the book ends.
    end of spoilers

That's probably due to aggressive campaigning from DC while Brevoort openly admitted Marvel doesn't give a crap about awards.
