‘Silk: Spider Society' Writers Room Scrapped by Amazon

The writers room for the ‘SILK’ series has been scrapped except for showrunner Angela Kang.

The show will have a creative overhaul & refocused to a more male-skewing audience.

    Um...wow? That's kind of a big deal.

"Male-skewing" - What does that even mean? More action? More camera shots of Cindy in her skintight costume?

I imagine it might mean "make it more like The Boyz".

I enjoyed the Madame Web movie, though I don't think it's a masterpiece.
a heck of a lot of the review bombing is way off-base.

I hope it gets a chance on video/streaming.

    mild spoilers
    spoilers:
It's ironic that the film has such prominent product placement from Pepsi; going back to the 1980s, Columbia Films spent some time being owned by Coca Cola..

Sony has announced that Venom: The Last Dance will be the last Venom movie.

    https://www.ign.com/articles/venom-t...-chairman-says

I wonder if this is to make it easier to introduce another actor as the MCU Eddie Brock.

They've already introduced the Alien Costume to the MCU. But it may be narratively better to introduce a new Eddie Brock as an antagonist, rather than to figure out a reason for an Eddie Brock from an alternate universe to be obsessed with a college student superhero.

They could also just have Tom Hardy play the MCU version of Venom, just as Hugh Jackman is playing a new version of Wolverine in Deadpool & Wolverine.
    Sincerely,

I think I read some time ago that Hardy didn't want to reprise his role after the third movie. So there's gonna be two options, a new actor playing Eddie Brock or a new character, like Harry Osborn or Flash, becoming Venom.

Is there even a point in introducing a Harry Osborn who won't have the friendship with Peter to define him?

Anyone else remember hearing about the rumors of an R-Rated animated Venom movie in the works? Because if true that might actually be good. I genuinely think it may be for the best if Sony switches to animated Spider-Man content full-time. It seems to be the only thing they're good at and what people actually seem to want from them.

My take on Avengers for the sony-verse.-

    Venom-Hulk
    Jackpot-Scarlet Witch
    Ricochet-Hawkeye
    Silver Sable- Black Widow/Nick Fury
    Annex-Captain America
    Puma-Black Panther
    Madame Web-Dr. Strange
    Nightwatch- Iron Man.
    John Jameson as Captain Jupiter-Sentry.

    Any thoughts on my picks?

That to me is the problem of the Sony Spider verse movies. The most interesting thing about Venom to me is the Spider-Man connection. I feel like a lot of the Sony movies struggle to overcome that.
I have wondered if they had the rights to Spider-Girl. That would be a great way to work around that. I do think a Spider hero to launch new characters and ground the franchise is badly needed.
