It's no wonder some fans are more invested in the fanon gay characters/ships when you look at the current lineup of books and realize there's not a single m/m couple in any of them. And that's how it usually is. Like, what even is there in canon?

Brevoort is simply doing what White did before him, pretend that it never happened. They downplayed it further after XoS and even more once Hickman was out.

Well, I’d rather think that Jean was cheating on Scott, it’d make more sense than the alternative.

I prefer to think they went Poly for a time. Maybe even Jean and Scott are polly now.

Jean will be in space doing Phoenix stuff and Scott in Alaska maybe they will add hall pass to each other.

It’s really dumb, Scott would never accept to share his wife, the only way Jean hooking up with Logan makes sense is if she was cheating, it has happened before so it’s not out of character for Jean to cheat on Scott.

i dont think is dumb. you have to think they have died already Jean 3 times and Scott 2? also Logan is a constant in their life. Maybe Scott was meh you can touch but never own tribe?

also that give me the look that Emma was into the "poly thing" but also dont. she in this era was protayed close to Scott but not in a couple way.

It was swept under the rug in the krakoan era and Brevoort will not even accept its existence. Time to move on. Jott is the only thing they're going to focus on and nearlyenough is still mad because we won't be getting Scemma. It's joever. Let it go

Yeah, Logan was a constant in his life, as the asshole who tried to steal his wife for years. It’s stupid, it makes no sense and goes against who these characters are on a fundamental level.

Interesting stuff... so there's another couple of books, which could be ongoings or limited series, still to be announced and hitting presumably before the end of the year. And then another 2 waves of books - I wonder how big those will be and how large the X-line will be while all those books are on the market concurrently.

All very interesting. I'm looking forward to more surprises although I'm not sure my wallet is.

One thing you have to realize is for a lot of those people, it's not just shipping, they actually see all those characters as gay or bi. They don't just want a pairing, they want their view of those characters confirmed and legitimized.(...)

This a definitely a product of the new fandom I was speaking about in a previous post, the one in which authors/writers and fandom interact easily via social. That fans get entitled to their headcanons to become canon and have a way to easily reach the producers of the actual canon.
No fan of Kirk/Spock ever dreamed to going to anyone from Paramount to ask them for Spock and Kirk to be made gay/bi and into each other (there were questions to Roddenberry or Nimoy and Shatner, but nothing went over that and no shipper ever expected from J.J. Abrams to make the pair canon in the reboot series). I think things turned with Supernatural or around the time of the Supernatural hype anyway.

And there hasn't been in a while. I think the last one was SPecter and Graymalkin, other than Prodigy and Speed. Personally I'd like to read some gay couple stories with guys who are in the late 20's/early 30's, instead of teen stories. Maybe take Pyro and match him up with someone, even if it means creating a new character.

Rictor and Shatterstar are in the Unlimited story and it's nice to see. Though they tend to come and go as far as consistent appearances go.
