Who should make up the first team of MCU X-men?

Lets say the first X-men film features the main team being up to 6 characters. Who should they be?

Cyclops
Storm
Beast
Kitty
Gentle

The top 3 are my core three and I dont think you can do a film without them. Beast adds brains and comedy. Gentle is about to get a small push in the books and also serves as a direct link to Wakanda, tying into the MCU. Plus he represents one of the newer generation and would be something different

I think it would actually be best to NOT feature Wolverine. Id save his full debut for a solo film, but tease him here as something to build up for the second film

To be fair I think Fox did a pretty good job of introducing "core" X-Men in the first X-Men movie. Storm, Wolverine, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Rogue, Iceman (sort of) and I would add in Beast. Add in Nightcrawler, Colossus, and Kitty, and then Gambit,. Angel and Psylocke in the next movies...

Or....like other said, go with the 05.

I'm sorry but no. The O5 are boring and it doesn't have to be exactly like the source material. The first Avengers movie wasn't. I say we start with Storm, Cyclops, Jean, Beast or Colossus, and Iceman.

It's very easy no origin story. Just say Xavier has been mind wiping everyone whenever the X-Men show up. They're probably going to do the same thing with the Sentry

Depends how they introduce the X-Men.

If they introduce them as some team that's been secretive and active for a while, I'd say just use the O5 in flashback scenes, making them the first team.

Regardless, the team we "meet" should be a good mix of the more popular characters.
