Well, most test models/prototypes do that, don't they? Besides, even the proper space shuttle program is shuttered now.

Looking at this image makes me appreciate just how much effort Bennett put into making his shuttle look realistic.

While I do appreciate the art in these preview pages, what it makes me appreciate more is that Cockrum did it in 2/3 of a page.
