Default A tweet from a Marvel staffer on the X-Men

So I stumbled across this. I'm not sure if this counts as Politalk. But this was written by a Marvel Staffer. On his personal Twitter account under his own name.

X-Men are closer to Jews in SJW Hitler's Germany fighting for freedom because they see ideologues rising, silencing them, weaponizing hate, racism and socialism against the people they claim are the root of social ills. SJWs are not Nazis but Nazis are SJWs and X-MEN aren't SJWs.
He literally works for Marvel, a company effectively founded by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. Two Jewish comic artists and writers. And he honestly says something like this. This complete disconnect and inability to understand the basic concept of their properties is why Marvel Comics is losing sales and market share while every single other publisher is growing. I mean. How do you say something like this?

It's honestly incoherent and doesn't make sense.

So is he saying that the Xmen are trying to stop an ideology like Hitler from coming to pass in the mutant world? If so that's not untrue.

Marvel is losing sales because the writing is crap.

Good thing he's already off Cable art duties anyway, isn't it?

Technically not a Marvel staffer, but a freelancer. One of Marvel’s editors (an actual Marvel staffer and the one that worked on Thunderbolts with him) is very unhappy with this. I expect him to get Syaf’d soon, even if we still have to put up with his art on his last issue of Cable.

He’ll be better off at DC.

    SJW Hitler
I honestly don’t know what’s happening here. I saw this phrase and just assumed I was having a stroke.

Yikes. He's saying people who fight for social justice and equity are trying to outright kill people via ethnic cleansing. And by that point, you can't really argue with anyone who believes that of SJWs.

His twitter says he's a "devil's advocate." But the devil has more than enough advocates. No need to add more.

I just really want him to actually read an X-Book, or watch the 1992 cartoon. Hell, the X-Men were SJWs back in the 60s, much moreso under Roy Thomas, and Claremont built even further upon that.

More nonsensical Twitter “controversy”. I only know about this because I listened to the EVS interview last night. He is a good artist. That is all that matters. Hopefully Marvel gives him more work.

You grasp that the term SJW is meant to be sarcastically implying disingenuousness on the part of the one it is directed at, right?

Not a defense of the guy; but christ people need to stop using these stupid terms that get interpreted as different things by different people.

X-23's most basic surface level characteristic that any idiot should grasp: Stoicism.
I don't demand that her every minor appearance be a nuance in-depth examination of her character, but is it to much to ask she be written in Archetype?! This is storytelling 101! If you want people to stay invested in a character, you need to, at the bare minimum, write them such a way that they can plausibly be believed to be the same character!

I use SJW as a point of pride for myself, to counter those who would use it as an insult or a negative. There's no shame in fighting for the rights of my neighbor. My ancestors and my predecessors were SJWs. So were Dr. MLK and Bayard Rustin. I fight in their footsteps.

And if that doesn't work, then I prefer Social Justice Ranger -- someone who scouts ahead, scopes the environment, swift in action.

Lovely... completely missing my point, and contributing to the underling problem of people not knowing what the $#@% the other person is actually trying to say.

It appears you're the one who doesn't know what he's talking about.

Possible... which would only reinforce my point about the usage of the term.
