How is Magik able to stab the plane with her Soulsword? I thought the sword only affects magical stuff. Is the plane magical too? (Yes, I know I'm talking out of my rear end.)

I'm not so sure. It's possible Rosenberg is doing a double fake-out by making the candidate so obvious that people dismiss it, but I'm leaning toward Rahne.

LOVE the writing. Rosenberg is nailing the characters different voices. Interior Art by Gorham has enough character and dynamism of storytelling to it that I can forgive the stylistic parts I don't care for (character designs mostly). I DO wish someone other than Stegman was doing Cover Art. Not a fan in general and he's not grabbing me here either.

I'm not as familiar with Magik's history as some but I always found that training unneeded, she'd gone years without needing formal training after NM. So for her to require Dr. Strange's tutelage I always thought, why?

IN FACT --- waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back when Yana was first back from Limbo and wowing folks with her sword etc, Xavier spoke with Strange about him taking her under this wing in the magic department, and HE HIMSELF stated she didn't NEED further tutelage.

Naturally, her casting capabilities were STRONGER in Limbo than on Earth.

But yeah, she did have busted powers like the rest of the Phoenix Five, post AvX, and in her hysteria(jk) she ATE Limbo(kinda) and then sought out yester-year's Strange to retrain her.
