How can Kitty be salvaged post-Guggenheim?

So most of us hate Kitty's current iteration, but she's not inevitably a bad character. But if you were in charge, what could be done in a practical sense to get her back to the way she used to be (or make her better, if you've never been a fan) after Gaggenheim leaves? Obviously "ditch the marriage" is a popular choice, but like it or not it's happening, so how would you get rid of it in canon, if you wouldn't stick it out? Where would you put her? Who'd write her?

Have her give up control to Jean. Lead a team of New X-men and New Mutants where older, more powerful, more experienced characters won’t get jobbed to her and everyone on the team will be on an even playing field.

While Guggenheim is undoubtedly bad he hasn't portrayed her in a bad light, so much has he's portrayed others badly to make her better. Kitty doesn't so much need to be saved, just that her contemporaries need to be portrayed better.

I honest to god don't even know how to undo the marriage that doesn't destroy either character and doesn't involve a "Skrull all along" retcon.

Duggan loves her and has shown to make even her insufferable qualities likable, so he'd write whatever comes next. It'd be a lowkey "help the helpless" street level book, no bombastic action. Lots of politics. Magik, Rachel, Karma, Pete Wisdom, Meggan and a well-written Emma.

In the first issue, Rachel uses TK to grow Kitty's hair out.

Just a good writer that is able to show her as a real person, capable of winning and losing sometimes too. She should be, for a while, away of the position of giving orders, since that would remember us of how "know it all bossy" Guggs made her. The best would be a supporting role, focusing on her skills with electronics.

And, yes, grow her hair back and another uniform, for us to forget it all completely.

Step 1) One More Day the marriage. I’m not saying it should be rendered non-canon, but it should be undone in some manner.

Step 2) No more focus on romance. She’s jumped from relationship to relationship since coming back from the space bullet pretty much. Some people may want to immediately put her with Rachel or Illyana, but she’s coming out of a marriage, give her a break.

Step 3) Maybe another hiatus from the X-books is order. Either put her in limbo for a little bit or just another office have her.

The marriage is going to happen, so just have them head off on a honeymoon for a while, then have them both keep their heads down for a bit when they get back. In the meantime, someone else has taken over leadership, and when the right writer comes along have them both back in action, preferably on separate teams (while still acknowledging that they’re married).
