    Default Are mutants still sterile?

    So has this been resolved?

Second image isn't working, looks like part of the url is blacklisted. Find another source.

And no, the M-pox is gone, new mutants should be appearing again now.

The whole “mist sterilizes mutants” Thing was never fully explained and apparently just dropped and forgotten.

But regardless nothing is preventing new mutants from appearing now.

Barring a sudden shortage of alcohol and Barry White, you’re correct.

Honestly I’m just gonna go with that Storm wasn’t being literal and just being metaphorical to the fact that there would be no more new mutants this effectively making the mutant race sterile.

Except Storm wasn't the only person who said this.

I think they swept it under the rug, never to be spoken of again.

in X-MEN RED 1 we saw Jean Laura and Gabby saving a baby from carjackers and that baby happens to let out sonic screams and Jean explain that the stress cause the baby to exhibit powers earlier than usual so there you have it. mutants are being born.

And both times it’s paired with the line of how there will be no more mutants, not that they can’t have children.

This. This is one of my problems with modern X-Men comics.

Not just with M-Pox but also with the Decimation way back when. They create events that should have personal, emotional repercussions for a great number of people and they barely zoom in to see how it effects them. It's all wide scale stuff and population numbers. Sometimes they may have one book that bothers to deal with the more personal aspects of this stuff, like X-Factor after the Decimation. And it's a damn shame coming from a franchise that used to be the best damn soap opera in comics. It used to be all angst and emotion and personal turmoil. Even the Legacy Virus back in the day, which was a similar sort of occurrence, spent a fair bit of time on people's personal reactions to it.

This line was stupid. They make it seem like there will be no more mutants because pf how mutants have been sterilized, when most mutants come from human parents lol.

I'm just going under the assumption that, like all cells, the cells that existed were sterilized by T-Mists, however any cells produced after IvX weren't affected by T-Mists and therefore weren't sterile.
I’ve just published my very first work on ‘Archive of Our Own’, under the same name as here. It is the first chapter of ‘I Am My Own Best Friend ~ An Emma Frost Road Trip’, which focuses on Emma between the events of IvX and Secret Empire, including the White Queen going on a road trip, to try and have fun!

You can read the story here: https://archiveofourown.org/works/15795663

I hope you enjoy it as much I did writing it!

Any character that actually matters become sterile? If not, it seems easy enough to not worry about it unless it's plot relevant.

I just chalk it up to Storm is dumb and didn't know what she was talking about. Storm has never really been one of the brains when it comes to science.
