I can't tell if Rosenberg forgot the fact that Tabby's dad was a drunk, or is honoring the fact that Tabby's dad was a drunk. Should be using Siryn for any relapse subplot .

Her dad was a drunk and slapped her around a bit, it was one of the reasons that she ran away from home so young...to get away from him...and I'd say that neither lady should be in a drunk plotline...

I'd love to think that she talked with Elixir for the five seconds that he lived on Utopia before joining a death squad, killing his former friend (that Dani was supposed to be looking for), going missing for years and years, getting captured by some run-of-the-mill Weapon X subset, killed off by Siphon while Laura casually watched, resurrecting himself and returning to Utopia as a militaristic, mutant revolutionary. Dani didn't ever come back for him or anything. Hell, her whole role during the Terrigen Mist crisis ws to rescue mutants and being them to X-Haven, which she did for neither Hellion or Elixir.

Oop. Sorry, just made myself a little irritated that Dani just up and stopped giving a sh!t about someone she considered "a son."

Alcoholism has genetic and social elements, so they're both perfect for alcoholism stories.

Though then you run the risk of them being typecast in some ways, like how certain things can follow a character around for decades after the event, like calling Tony Stark a drunk or saying that Siryn is a drunk even if she hasn't had a drink in months/years...the character can become known for that even if it's not true anymore....
