As X-Men fans, who is your favorite Marvel character outside of the X-Men?

I always loved X-Men since CC's original run. I was a total fan.

I never was a fan of the Marvel Universe outside the X-Men but there are a few runs I deeply loved :
Franck Miller's Daredevil run
John Byrne's Fantastic Four run
Byrne/Jae Lee's Namor. Oh I guess Namor belongs to the X-Universe now.

Actually I loved pretty much anything Byrne wrote at the time (West Coast Avengers, Alpha Flight). I tried to read his Alpha Flight run lately, I now I understand why he doesn't like it. When I was a kid I thought the run was amazing. I think it's not that good, now that I am... old.

Anyway, I never cared that much for any characters outside the X-Men.

I like the F4 and their villains, and I think Maestro is the best and biggest Marvel villain.

Spider-Man, Spider-Man, radioactive Spider-Man . . .

(Sorry, I'm flashing back to my childhood watching the 90s Spider-Man cartoon as each episode premiered, and being supremely delighted when it started rerunning on weekdays.)

But yes, Spider-Man is my favorite non-X-Men character, and as an X-Men fan, like someone else put it, he is basically one of the closest non-mutants to recognizing and appreciating what the X-Men go through on a daily basis. Like them, he is also hated and feared and hounded by those he would seek to protect. Like them, he is often demonized and vilified by normal humans, and targeted for assassination or extermination by those with the means, financial or otherwise, to make the attempt. Like them, he is often the outcast, even among his fellow superheroes. Like them, he perseveres in spite of the hate thrown his way and does the right thing, regardless . . . at least most of the time (F*** ONE MORE DAY).
