It really deserves points for not being afraid to address issues involving prejudice and racism from another angle and is the title that have the most expectations at the moment at least giving the impression that it wants to change the status quo while the other titles simply follow the flow. But there's still a lot to prove after all not everyone seems to understand the analogy with the new Sentinels and not everyone likes Gabby to be getting so much attention. Art is also something that needs improvement.
while it's certainly very topical, it should also be noted that this is the sort of mainstream attention that helps comics to obtain eisners and other literary awards.
well done taylor & team, and good luck on this. personally, i would love to see a current-day x-men book find that sort of achievement.
LOL. X-Men: Red is a trash series that writes great characters as jackasses and smothers he audience with the unbearable Honey Badger.
Good Marvel characters- Bring Them Back!!!

Nah... I'm not really feeling it. Not impressed with the writing or the current art-style. I'm glad we got a new artist. I've heard that Taylor has written great stuff in the past, but I find it his style to be distracting and uninspired thus far. The way he's tackling social issues is quite heavy and just sucks me out of the experience. So far he's blantly touched on the gender pay-gab in India, Facebook voting interference/ data mining, and whatever he's getting at with "we need a nation"-thing. That hotdog-thing with Nightcrawler made me cringe... I'm a black, son of an immigrant, democrat that voted for Hilary before anyone calls me something. Also, he doesn't seem to have a firm grasp of contractions all the time. And I have reservations about this roster, which has improved with Storm and Gambit, but still way too large imo to see any character development outside of Jean. Just barely holding on, but I am giving it a chance, at least. It is the most interesting of the X-Men catalogue at the moment.
I think as X-Men fans, we're so starved for good content that even a glimpse of something better gets us all excited.

Realistically speaking about fictional matters. | Nutcases need not respond. | Stay outta my DMs. | Why does the "House of Ideas" keep duplicating characters?! | If an idea or belief cannot stand up to criticism it's probably... bad.
