Well, hopefully Shogo's got his personal force field bubble that the students built for him. That ought to help.

Jubilee got fun again when Shogo entered her life. At least, compared to the slog that was her depowered and vampire years. Besides, Jubilee's at her best when she has someone to fight for. Particularly a loved one. Probably because family and abandonment are some of her biggest themes. First it was Logan who she rescued and latched onto. Then it was the X-Men in general because they were having a particularly crappy time (Illyana's death, Peter's defection, Logan's injury during Fatal Attractions). That's why she went to train with Generation X. Then it was her Gen X friends. But after that once it became clear that Jubilee didn't really need the X-Men looking after her anymore and also that X-Men didn't exactly need her, the more directionless she got.

You know, there are those of us who actually like the more mature and serious version. She has to age up at some point, otherwise she stagnates.

His mom gets so sucked into an adventure that she forgets he exists and he has to be babysat by sewer dwellers. That kid’s gonna have some issues when he grows up

She can be mature and serious but still have a playfulness to her. I'd like a mix like that. Not quite on the level of Iceman's jokester nature but just with a joy about living.

Better Callisto and the sewers than Nanny and the Orphan Maker. Oh, wait... They might show up. Poor Shogo.

Just because she didn't intend to abandon him doesn't mean that it won't affect him.
Children that age aren't great at object permanence, all he knows is that she isn't there anymore. And with Chamber handing him off to yet another caregiver, how is he supposed to develop trust in parental figures?

I'm enjoying this more than I originally thought I would. I know there's like an 87% chance Hickman is coming to the X-Books, but I really hope it's Adjectiveless or something else. I'd like for Rosenberg to have at least 30 issues to play with. More, if it stays this good or improves.

    Additional thought:

    Scott: Hey, where's Shogo?

Jono: Iiiii think I'm gonna ditch my dependent to join an X-Team.

Scott: Oh cool, I've done that lol.

And this sort of "aging up" actually fits the themes of the character.

Though, I'm going to admit I stopped taking his opinion seriously when he referred to parenting as "babysitting".

That's okay. So does his mom.

LMAO Scott can relate to that
But I think Jono is right that Shogo is safer on a mutant friendly place.

Also, I just noticed that this whole issue made Chamber a target for Rosenberg's scythe. Usually the guy who's on a revenge quest and has someone to go back to is the one who dies. I got sad just thinking about it. May the dear lad be safe.

You do realize that I’m joking right? Was the or nonsensical nature of the post not enough of a tip-off?
