Fire From Heaven!
Next month, the DC Next Dawn Universe will engulfed in FIRE FROM HEAVEN, the Dark Pyra Saga!
A mix of parts from Dark Phoenix Saga, Inferno and Fall of the Mutants, Fire From Heaven spins out of the events of the PYRA SAGA. Penelope Pink, now god-like, finds herself corrupted into the service of the evil DAMOCLES, an ancient Gen-Active warlord who dreams of driving baseline humanity to extinction!
To enact this scheme, the amoral DARK PYRA enslaves the Omega Titans, the caretakers of the Source Wall, and brings them to Earth. In the DC Comics canon, there’s only four of these big boys, but in Next Dawn, there’s as many as you could ever want. Here's a list of one's I've come up with, but feel free to make your own if you want!
Damocles is also served by the SWORDS, acolytes of incredible power.
The Sword of Justice, Ohmen — the resurrected Unity!
The Sword of Fortune, Looker — telepathic vampire!
The Sword of Fear, Mister Whisper — Basilisk’s tormentor and evil eugenicist!
And now, the Sword of Virtue, the fallen Pyra!
This mad warlord has stolen fire from the heavens, and nobody is safe – not even himself!
Damocles issues the metahumans of Earth an ultimatum: rise up and claim dominion over humanity, or be destroyed by the Omega Titans alongside them!
As the G-Men rush to save – or, stop – their fallen friend, it's up to the rest of Earth's heroes to make sure the Earth is still standing!
TL;DR: Your heroes will be fighting either/or Space Gods or Evil Metahumans.
Rules
The story will be told in a Four-Issue Event Miniseries called FIRE FROM HEAVEN, where the primary story will unfold. During that time, all other plotters are invited to tie-in with their own books. This can be accomplished in the following ways:
(1) Directly. Your book’s monthly solicitation can tie-in to the events of Fire From Heaven. The solicitation would look like “BOOK X #24 *Fire From Heaven Tie-In*.” All plotters who do this will get one extra reward point for their book.
(2) Stand Alone Tie-Ins. If you don’t want to interrupt the flow of your normal series, you can do a tie-in mini-series (or one shot) of your own, looking something like “CHARACTER X: FIRE FROM HEAVEN #1.” Normal miniseries rules will apply, with the book able to independently earn reward points through the normal ways. Those points will revert to the parent title when the miniseries ends (or, if it's a one-shot, the next month).
(3) You can do both those things.
Remember that the main story will unfold in the FIRE FROM HEAVEN book, so instead focus on what your characters are doing in the midst of this event.
Other Books
There will also be a companion anthology miniseries in the spirit of NEGATION: THE HOME FRONT and FEAR ITSELF: TALES OF SUSPENSE: ASHES OF EARTH. This is for other short stories you may want to tell about your characters during the event. Anyone who wants to contribute to this is welcome.
