Scratch that "unlikely". I'm on two and looking for a third to guest star. You'd be amazed how some of these properties have big things in common.

Now what goes through my mind when I design a cover. It's no secret I am lifting heavily from Hunter Thompson for the Fear Itself tie-in mini. Fear Itself to Fear and Loathing is not that big of a leap. By the last issue, our buddy Reed has been somewhat changed by his experiences and the Allograft atmosphere. Still doing the HST thing, I decide to lift the Kingdom of Fear cover for the last issue cover. My first thought was to plaster Reed's face on HST's body and leave it at that, but my skills aren't that great, especially with the hat (which was unfortunately discarded ). So I find a Reed figure to use instead and luckily there's an action figure pic that has a white lab coat with the Byrne era dark blue suit underneath. At this point, I need to reverse the hands due to the figure's positioning. The drink hand is straight from Thompson's cover except I colored the drink some what. If it is a drink, Heh heh. And the finger hand. I didn't like the positioning of HST's hand so I goggled another as the internet is full of middle finger picks. Because it's Reed the arm and finger are stretching.

What didn't work as well as I thought was the knuckle tats. I fell for the urban myth that Robert Mitchum wore them in Cape Fear not realizing it was another film altogether. Still, Reed with knuckle tats spelling FEAR seemed kinda kewl.

Because Sue Storm is a big part of this issue, I brought on an additional writer, Anita Thompson, Hunter's widow. Morbid or cool, you decide.

The word balloon is from Ultimate Reed and fits well with the fright note.
