Im very curious. How do you see the scene going? Or how would you write it? Because in most outcomes i see any but the die hard Jean fans being like "damn she really going in on someone who was addicted to drugs?" Sometimes optics just don't look good, even if a character gets to express themselves.

Soemone that did something wrong dealing with consequences, it is not something we see a lot on X-books.

the drug was Sublime (a sentient bacterial colony) in asthma puff form. Sublime is the villain that killed Jean, not Xorn.
Unfortunately Marvel doesnt use Sublime much, perhaps from respecting the Morrison run too much.
It doesnt help that the last time Xorn was used he almost dates Rachel and there was a stupid plot about "him" having a sister "Arkea". (it's stupid because bacterias don't have gender, the real Sublime is the bacteria, not the human body they rule as a puppet)

I think Sublime could be a great villain, and I would love for Jean to have her revenge on him, but Marvel really shitted the bed with their last Sublime story, even worse than the Rachel thing, the biggest problem was not understanding the character. A sentient bacterial colony billions of years old, genderless, that hates mutantkind, evolution and change, because it wants to remain on top of the world's food chain.

Sublime is also quite responsible for the deaths of Esme, Sophie, and Quentin Quire (although Quire selfresurrected)
the only reasonable justification for Sublime "dating" Rachel is him trying to infect her

Reveal that the modifications the Facility made to Kimura were just enhancing a latent or existing mutation (say, she already had mildly enhanced durability, but the Facility ramped it up to Eleven). Resurrecting her with the idea she could serve Mutant-kind could be part of what led Laura to leave Krakoa, and perhaps once resurrected her durability was restored at her natural level, but not fully indestructible. At some point she and Laura are forced to work together, and confront their similar backgrounds (perhaps revealing that a big part of why Kimura came to hate and obsess over Laura so much at the end was because when she saw Laura she saw herself, and was angry that Laura had been able to heal, while she could not).

Sublime was created when Morrison almost died because he had a infection with a superbactery. I don't think it is a concept easy to use;
Seems like everything that happened with Jean was so long that writers ignore or solve anything with a page. That is anticlimatic and doesn't help to build the character
