Just like the U.S., there are government workers who nobody voted for handling day to day issues and processing.

Why were they intent of leaving with them? I don't think we heard the opinion of any Dora other than the MA. I don't even know why they left besides whatever the MA used to cover for their crimes. Isn't it the simple truth that Coates had a personal issue with Tchalla having an all female guard system because the believed no man could resist lo key rapping them?
Yes there are government workers handling day to day issues citizens being in ... but they're not the freaking president. Even without the super hero stuff the leader of a nation likely doesn't have time for that. Its delegated. Add the super hero stuff that requires him out of the country for days at a time, and you get a pretty inefficient system.

As for why they left ... I'm sure a big part of it was the execution of the MA. Beyond that, I think they got a greater sense of purpose helping Wakandans independently instead of playing body guard to a guy who didn't need body guards. There was no actual need for the DM beyond serving as political pawns... Tchalla obviously could take care of himself for the most part. I think this was them repositioning themselves to serve a better purpose, which I suspect Tchalla is cool with provided they're free to assist him when he has use for them.

Really the body guard thing was stupid. Anything a legitimate threat to Tchalla would cut through a Dora in 30 seconds. Anything a Dora can handle, Tchalla doesn't need to worry about in the first place. It's why Tchalla frankly leaves them out of his super hero stuff the majority of the time. If anything I think for really dangerous situations he'd have to protect them instead of the other way around.

Then what does voting for said president do for the average citizen? If the office is too busy, whats the difference in who it is if the people below him are the same doing the same job he was doing before. At that point doesn't voting become as hollow and symbolic as the Dora being gaurds?

As Tchalla told BW when she wanted to fight. "I have people for that".

Which T'Challa are we talking about here?

    Lee/Kirby, Priest/Hudlin, McDuffie/Liss or Coates?

If were talking about Coates T'Challa aka milquetoast supreme, then forget about it.

The Dora's rule under Coates pen whilst T'Challa is classified chump material.

    But you already knew that.

    Carry on bruv.

Coates and Storm need to be gone from the BP mythos post haste.
Now im curious, did something happen involving a particular weather witch squatting in Wakanda?

The US is a republic, not a true democracy. We don't decide everything... we elect the pwople we feel are best able to make those decisions for us. There are people in government who do address the day to day concerns of the average citizen... but its not the president. They deal largely with the bigger picture.

If presidents sat around listening to every citizen with a grioe, they would literally do nothing but sit around listening to citizens with a gripe. There are people for that waaay down on the ladder.

Here's the problem with your argument, it's full of I think" and "I'm sure" well here's the thing with comics, if it's not shown or said ON PANEL, then it's moot. Coates didn't think about intricacies of why they would join, he simply had Ayo say to aneka they can't do anything because they are so few, then aneka "has an idea" and all of a sudden they are in the jabari lands and leaf Mbakus brother onto a trap with the Dora's..

The DM have been shown as loyal to the crown, ride or dies they take that isht seriously, then all of a sudden let characters convince Allo of then to leave off panel? How did they even get back onto the Golden city with detection? And why didn't any oppose them? Or when they joined forces with KNOWN TERRORISTS who were raping and killing their people they swore to protect why didn't they call the Ma out? Or go back to T'Challa? Better yet why did they hide like cowards while T'Challa and co fought to protect the citizens and them by stopping Tetu?

I want you to show me on panel proof, not I thinks or im sure, or I assume or anything of YOUR OPINION. Provide facts. I'll wait...

It's funny what Coates has done to the Black Panther comic book. We are now discussing in the Black Panther Appreciation Board about how we can read Indie comics by black creators instead of our beloved character, T'Challa. Man...it's a shame.

What, with all the Russian interference and all that hmmm?

Wakanda and the BP mythos got along just fine before Ta Nehisi Coates decided to inject his particular brand of retrograde "realism" into a fantasy setting.

And speaking of the Dora Milaje, did they pray tell, have a hand in developing any of the technologies that went into the creation of their unique weaponry and distinctive armour?

I merely ask because dating back to at least Jonathan Maberry in the lead up to, and during Doomwar, T'Challa was responsible for developing all of their equipment.

If they were so intent on going off on their own on their quest to cast of the non-existent yolk of T'Challa's "bondage" upon their necks, they should have done so without the aid of all the armour and weapons they stole from Wakanda.

None of the Dora Milaje were held in bondage to their King as it was seen as a distinctive honour and duty to serve as personal bodyguards to the King and by extension, Wakanda in its entirety, alongside every branch of Wakanda's security/military forces.

For discussions sake, is there anyone currently posting in this thread, who believes that a cadre of American Secret Service Agents, would be able to wake up one morning and arbitrarily decide that they wanted to set up an autonomous state independent of the USA with tech and armaments that belonged to the aforementioned USA that they had given an oath and pledge to protect at all costs?

There's a reason why the concept of a dedicated chain of command is a thing not to be taken lightly but according to some, it's okay to flout established rules and go about fomenting rebellion just because.....

The mind truly boggles at the level of goal post moving and mental gymnastics that some choose to apply when going of on tangents that have no basis in anything that preceded Ta Ta Nehisi Coates faux "woke" experimentation with a mythos he lacked the imagination to comprehend or appreciate.

A mythos that was never dependent on a torture porn descent into the horror of rape camps, misogynymor wholly manufactured gender based tension that was completely absent from the BP work that previous legendary writers put in before standards dropped.
It amazes me that Wakanda didn't have these issues until Coates decided to come along and create a third world Wakandan state with dictators and all and some people act like this was Wakanda all along. Instead of an African nation leading and inspiring the rest of the world, we get a third world Wakanda who can't even defend itself against treehouse rape camps because everybody is stupid.
