I mean, I like Hickman's definition and it's fairly restricting in a way that I agree with. My only real issue with it is some stated examples (Like I got no idea why Hope is in the spot that Rogue should be in other than because they don't want to bench Rogue with Resurrection duties.)

Like Eva's never gonna be the top time person cause Kang does it, but more consistently, more varied and all around better

Johnny Storm is always gonna be a wall to any fire user.

And let's be fair, who the hell is out-punching the Hulk on a consistent basis?

I need to use a version of this when people use opinions but state them as facts. I just wish people would qualify their opinions and state their bias (it is fine to have a bias but you have to acknowledge it - this is basic research methods) but many fail to acknowledge their bias and state obvious opinion as factual statements.

Ultimately I like what Hickman has done with the omega mutants because we have this definitive list and he isn't allowing other writers to add to the problem of creating more omega mutants. It makes them all less special if anyone can be omega. Alpha mutants are very powerful, but omega's are a little extra. That is the best way for a lot of fans to see it.

If your fav isn't an omega it is not a slight against them and your fav character probably is still very very powerful.

Now, there are some characters I would have included on the omega list or would have guessed would have been on it (like Rachel, Cable, Xavier, etc) but I am fine with the psychic characters chosen (Jean, Quire, and Exodus). I may would have put Synch on instead of Hope for example.

I was very happy that Storm was confirmed (though I think she was previously stated to be an omega)? It is an elite group because so few mutants made the cut.

Maybe Rogue is the back up plan

I Think Mags and Poly should be Omegas

    Roguey and Emma should too!

Maybe Kwannon ? Cap Betsy is meh

Synch is exactly Hope. They work the same and do not do more.

Rogue operates differently from the two of them and does many more things.

But Synch if left out by Hope, because in the imitate of powers both she and Rogue have proven to be better than him.

    Sunfire?
    ??
it has never seemed to me that he has anything too impressive son in power m I have always seen it very medium
Better than Synch. What are you talking about? He is powerful enough, that he was brought back as a replacement for one of The 5.

When the last time you read about Everett?

I believe MAGMA is a likely omega.

Have you seen what she can do>? Have you seen the destruction she coursed when freaking out in The 198 mini series?

Yup, she is definitely in the Omaga area if you ask me.

    Anyone agrees?

Bishop is OP even without his mutation if the years spent hunting Cable and Hope are anything to go by

Bishop most definitely is not OP.

Yeah, Tempus is the most worthy of being omega.

Good cases are also made for Darwin, Magma, Meggan and Sienna Blaze.
And of course Scarlet Witch and Wiccan whenever that stupid retcon gets undone.

Although... Does the definition of omega include heralds?
Because I doubt that Amara could do anything Terrax can't.

You don't kill entire planets without being OP.

Usually not no, but alternate timeline Earths and alien planets are quite prone to jobbing. No OP required, just a little help from the plot.

When it comes to teleporters it's hard to imagine anyone outclassing Magik. Able to summon an unlimited number of portals of any size to anywhere in space, time, and even other dimensions. She's so ridiculously OP even without any of her magical abilities that I've long advocated for establishing hard limits on her teleporting.
