Aaron seems to be a lot like Bendis in that he comes up with big ideas, but his execution leaves a lot to be desired. Seems like it may be worse with Aaron though. I thought the idea of prehistoric avengers was interesting, I liked the female iron fist, but I don't want to read about Odin thirsting for the phoenix, or Aaron desperately trying to justify his portrayal of she-hulk. Ghost Rider took control of a dead celestial, that should be cool, but it isn't. Describing Aaron's avengers is more fun than actually reading it.

He needed to pick one big idea.

Whether it was the super hero arms race or the prehistoric avengers.

Keep that big idea in the background slowly simmering... while having focused arcs in between.

Instead it just feels like there are ten things going on. Namor, Coulson, Russians, prehistoric avengers, phoenix, vampires, mephisto... like chill man lol

He probably did all these subplots so that he can draw out his run on Avengers. He's already gonna hit fifty issues so I wouldn't be surprised if he tries for 100.

If a Black Panther game was made would you prefer it to be in the world of the avengers game or a brand new continuity all together?

Sounds like a great idea. But I’d personally bring in the voice actors for the avengers game as I wouldn’t want their talents to go to waste.

Honestly those 3 different plots could of been the stories for the next 4 year's. 13- 15 issues per story and we would of been set

Just a shame that of he did make it to 100, what does it matter if all the stories are a jumbled mess with forgettable plots? I mean if he continues to give T'Challa feats like he has i won't complain but still I want good stories to go with it

It's all about milestone numbers at that point. Avengers was very good at weaving interpersonal relationships and world ending threats with the down to earth stories sprinkled in. Now Avengers is becoming like Justice League. Every plot is an earth-shattering, universal threat followed by the next one.

The vampire, Winter Guard, Squadron and even the Johnny Blaze arcs were good. But Phoenix, Moon Knight and the whole Heroes Reborn arc were meh. His BP has been good but sparse and nothing really to remember. It's like cotton candy, tastes good but you don't remember eating it.

Someone on Reddit suggested that Aaron was writing the Avengers as Grant Morrison's Justice League, I haven't read Morrison's JL in a long time, but if Aaron is channeling Morrison he's not doing a good job at it. I don't think the Avengers are designed for those grand scale level stories like the Justice League is.

Eh, I think grand stories are fine if they don't suck lol.

Grand stories have to build thought. It cant be like the first Celestial arc where its "OMG SUPER CELESTIALS" then 4 issues later "lol threat over"

Roger Stern and Kurt Busiek are Avengers writers who come to mind when doing epic stories but still focusing on the interpersonal relationships of the Avengers team members. I'd even through in Bob Harras and his under-appreciated "Gatherers" storyline. that was a great storyline built up on many subplots.

Wish Marvel/Feige or whoever is in charge shared this importance towards a character that took 55+ years to appear on the big screen and pass it to others that would want to carry on the character's legacy only to "retire" him after 5 years after his first appearance in the MCU.
The funny thing is, Marvel stole so much from Bond it's ridiculous. Black Panther aged from Skyfall, Shuri is practically Q and then for Shang Chi, they went and copied and pasted the Skyfall Shanghai fight.

You see, the thing about actors and the characters they play, they're not wholly one and the same. When Richard Harris died (Ex brother in law to Bond girl Cassandra Harris who later became the wife of 5th Bond actor Pierce Brosnan)...and was replaced by Michael Gambon, no one addressed why he looked, sounded and even acted differently. They just got on with things and Gambon made the role his own.

A new actor to portray T'Challa doesn't need to be like Chadwick, he needs to make the role his own (much like every Bond actor has and Michael Gambon did with the role of Dumbledore).

Exactly. But then again, Gambon had the luxury of being cast in an age before Twitter. And keep in mind this is the same studio that bent over backwards to please the Twitter crowd when they bitched about Okoye not being on the poster of Endgame despite her only having 2 or 3 lines in a damn near 3 hour movie. God I just hope the real plan is to recast T’Challa via multiverse down the line.
