They're probably saving him so that later on, he can fall and break his neck while helping everyone else escape some death trap.

Someone on Reddit suggested that Aaron was writing the Avengers as Grant Morrison's Justice League, I haven't read Morrison's JL in a long time, but if Aaron is channeling Morrison he's not doing a good job at it. I don't think the Avengers are designed for those grand scale level stories like the Justice League is.

I think they can, it's like MoS said, it just can't suck.

For instance in recent history, Hickman's NA was really good. It was developing a huge threat and chugging along.. but then he lost his way and it started to falter at the end, he had an inflated cast and didn't properly handle them so that he could focus enough. It big epics CAN work with a clear cut direction in placee

yeah basically what Aaron is setting up that Mephisto is behind everything since the second arc. Namor, the Russians, the vampires, Coulson, and the fake Squadron Supreme. Also whatever, Mephisto is doing with all the alternate dimension Mephistos. Than he's probably going to link the Avengers to Mephisto. Showcasing that they've always been in opposition throughout the milenia somehow always thwarting him. yada yada yada

As expected, the fight scenes and action in Shang Chi were freaking dope.

I personally thought the action/fight scenes could and should have been better. Also, I really wish they leaned more into the spiritual/mystical elements of the mythology more, like Bast giving her approval for one to become BP, rather than anyone taking "welches's grape" and getting the powers.
