T'Challa: The Black Panther Appreciation 2021

Man, I think they are going to cut bait and do a soft reboot. New, young T'Challa(son of T'Challa) gets to start fresh and get a new trilogy. They can bring in a Hunter type character and have M'Baku become Uncle S'Yan.

Unfortunately this would open the door for them to bring in some of those Coates elements that we want to avoid.

You think this might be another reason they pushed this back besides Letitia getting buff to fight Namor?

Maybe they want to re-shoot some footage and then after the movie has been released, we can demand the Coogler Cut.

I think they are pushing it back cause its a lot to juggle.

There's at least a two year gap between CW/BP and IW plus the 5 year gap in Endgame and however much time has passed between Endgame and WF. At most the kid could be 7. I've made my peace with T'Challa likely getting killed off so I no longer care about the BP side of the MCU.

I don't really care about anyone not T'Challa as BP unless it's something in the past with one of the past BPs. Still think an anthology comic or Disney plus series with each season focusing on a different BP from the past is rich with potential.

If true depending on how they handle him taking the mantle someday I'd be cool with it if he is more Priest/Redjack BP. I know Hannah mentioned that Ryan becoming a father while writing the script likely influenced the story and since we haven't seen Nakia since BP so it would be easy to slip a baby in there during that gap. But really Marvel should've just delayed and recast instead of a last minute rewrite with a character and actor that can't carry the franchise.

Good point about the Coogler being a dad bit. Also it fits his previous film Creed in a way. Idk what to say. Again recasting would be the easiest way. A variant would have been the more likely option. I guess it really depends on how long it lasted.



And again the ATL filming guy all but confirmed that the leak got out when it wasnt suppoed to on his twitter. Anyway he posted this from the set the other day.

Again, if they were to do this, then the other characters and heroes will be old as shit. Shang-Chi? Middle aged. Reed Richards? Old. Sue? Old. Stephen? Old. Sam? Middle aged. Okoye? Middle aged or old. Ramonda? Hella old. It’s going to rob him of key character interactions by the time he’s an adult since all the other characters will be older than him. Not to mention it would be awkward to have him younger than Ironheart or Spider-Man. At least with a variant of T’Challa, he can be around the same age as the other adult heroes.

As the person who first posted this suggested there might have to be some time travel craziness happening. Or as the person I posted from twitter said it might be a case where they have Bast age him up.

I won't be surprised if this becomes a reality. After all, Coogler never really liked T'challa as a character at first so this is not completely out of nowhere.

If I might channel Digicom’s energy for a bit, a rumor is exactly what it sounds like a rumor. Need I remind y’all that there were a bunch of dumb rumors about Team Cap hiding in Wakanda or how the soul stone was in Wakanda. I’m not about to have some fatalist panic attack over a dumb T’Challa Junior rumor.

only way this even kinda works is if T'challa and son both go on a space mission somewhere and t'challa dies and they presume the kid is dead as well

get to the end credit, adn he comes back home and it ends up being a worm hole. And he is aged up because of it.

So almost similar to Cha-Cha, just add a worm hole.

Seems like a really big pain in the ass though to something VERY transparent (aka they want to keep using T'challa but "cant" and they don't want shuri panther)

Also seems like somethign that would have shuri fans FUMING.


Oh and if this is true... then you know in about 12 months, comic T'challa is about to have a son come through the worm hole from space empire days lol. Secret son from space nakia

It's possible. Or they could have young T'Challa interacting with a Young Avengers team. Plus we don't know how they plan on bringing in the FF or at what age. Even if T'CHalla is younger than the current crop, that shouldn't be a reason for them not to interact.

Look how they did Spidey and he was a high-schooler. If they were going with the Young BP, I'd say they would start him in his early to mid twenties by the time they get around to brining him in the MCU. If that was something they were considering.

They may go the re-cast route after all I hope, but I would still go with an actor in his late twenties-early thirties. This is someone we want around for a while.

They’re more than likely killing T’Challa off, they’re having his sister replace him (for a time at least) and they made Namor the villain. Giving T’Challa a child doesn’t seem that crazy given how much they’ve already shat on BP lore lol. I’m just surprised it’s a son tbh.

And this does further solidify Nakia as T’Challa’s main girl in the MCU which should take the winds out the sails of the comic BP-Storm romance. If this direction works it’s gonna be hard for the comics not to bring Nakia back in some capacity, with or without the child. Especially if they recast T’Challa down the line and commit to having a complete Wakandan Royal Family.

This means nothing. If the MCU think they can force and milk a R'Challa and Storm relationship with Nakia in the picture, they'll do it. Hollywood loves black death and black disfunction. Nakia better get Kevin Samuel's on a zoom call on how to keep her high value man.
