    Agreed.

The Multiverse gives them options if they want to deviate from the main timeline. I just hope they have a place for Kid and Mature content. That's one of the things I likes about What If...? They kept it for Mature audiences and didn't dumb it down.

I can see them bringing back EMH and with the new art style, I think it would be even better. I think they're planning a Darth Maul animated series for D+. I want to see how that looks.

Until then the games are all we’ve got if you don’t want an MCU influenced adaptation such as the Spider-Man games. Heck not even the recent Guardians of the Galaxy game was a complete MCU clone as the characters there seemed to be perfect combinations of their film and comic counterparts.
The MCU influence isn't as big as we think it is. Look at the Thor and Iron Man solos. Not much of anything from the MCU is in the books. I think it usually happens when a movie comes out that the comics will try to imitate and align. Even then, it doesn't last long, maybe a few months to a year at most.

You do have a point. But the thing about Tony is that he at least got a complete arc in the MCU. And of course the rules are always different for Black Characters.

I’ve been thinking a lot about Hunter lately on account of pondering where Ridley plans to go with the espionage storyline. Really do hope he’s back in play.

I agree that Coogler got a bum deal having Marvel and Disney immediately pressure him to make BP2 even after Chadwick died because they want their billion dollar golden goose to lay an egg NOW. Still I wish he had pushed backs against them, demanded they delay or else he’d walk. I bet Feige would’ve folded. Still if he’s committed to no T’Challa without Chadwick at this point, I think he needs to hand the franchise over to someone else with all due respect.
That's why I said it's on Marvel, I'm not saying Coogler isn't also responsible but this should not of been a conversation to have so soon after the news anyways, it reeks of greed and apathy. I agree that this is the wrong course

Yep, the amount of mental gymnastics applied to Black characters makes even the most acrobat T'Challa ever shown on any medium green with jealousy

Well, they don't have any other big budget movies with Black superheroes and that's part of the problem. I think we get Sam for the 4th Cap film(will they do the Jane Foster-Thor/Sam Wilson-Cap romance? Doubt it).

Marvel should not have let Chad's death stop them from finishing T'Challa's arc. Instead of following through and continuing with T'Challa, they go with making Shuri Black Panther. The problem with that was that there was nothing that Letitia showed us that led us to believe she could be pull off being Black Panther.

I can only hope they go ahead and set-up the next movie with the return of T'Challa and begin a whole new trilogy with the new guy.

Moore said T’Challa won’t be cast in MCU 616, so I still have hope for a variant. Of course there could always be that bs rumor about T’Challa Junior. Lmao.

Whether 616, Junior or some variant, they'll bring him back somehow. I hope that the new T'Challa will be someone with years of experience as BP and King(Priest) so that would eliminate Junior.

Well here’s my dumb fan theory on how they can handle T’Challa Jr. Lol.
I’ve been thinking about this again in light of Nate Moore’s interview. Say T’Challa and Nakia did have a child in between BP and Endgame but he was just offscreen because Daddy had bigger fish to fry (Thanos). I came up with this rather convoluted fan theory on how they could make it work, especially if the kid is named T’Challa II. After BP2, there will be a team up film with Kang as the main villain and since he’s the master of time, Kang decides to target all the major heroes and teams in the MCU at that point. So Shuri, M’Baku, Okoye, Nakia, and possibly Ayo and Aneka are ambushed by Kang and pulled into a temporal limbo. Basically Kang is doing the opposite of what Thanos did, where as the mad titan targeted everyone, Kang targets a few specific individuals that will be key to foiling his plans. So not only does he pull the Wakandan Heroes into the void, he also gets Shang-Chi and his allies, The Fantastic Four, Namor, The Marvels, Captain America, Thor, Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, Blade, the Hulks, the Young Avengers, and literally all the major heroes on earth that have been introduced at that point are pulled into the limbo. Ant-Man, having been through this song and dance before starts freaking out as he knows that literally every second counts as time passes by differently in the outside world. The other heroes brush him off thinking that he’s being extra but Doctor Strange tells them that Ant-Man has a point. Eventually they break out of the void, but the thing is they’ve been in there for about 18 hours, which translates to 18 years in the outside world. And Kang has taken over everywhere except Latveria, Atlantis and Wakanda. And then blah blah blah, **** happens, the heroes regroup to fight Kang but get their asses kicked. Kangs about to end it until a bunch of Wakandan battle ships and some impressive looking Panther mechs rain fire upon him.

Shuri and the rest of the Wakandans look to see who’s leading the charge and it turns out to be a new king of Wakanda that rose to power while they were in the void. The king shouts “YIBAMBE!” with the army behind him also shouting before screaming “Wakanda Forever!” and leading the charge against Kang, thus turning the tide in the heroes favor all while the theme song with the chorus shouting “T’Challa” blasting full volume. Then yadda yadda, they beat Kang and Shuri asks the new king his name to which he’ll say something like “Aunt Shuri, I am King T’Challa the second, son of King T’Challa” or some **** like that. Basically this would be a way to age up the kid (again assuming the rumor is true) without significantly aging the other characters in the process. He would also have T’Challas comic accurate traits such as his genius level intellect and prep time mastery.

Again this is assuming IF Coogler is going through with the whole T’Challa jr thing as a way to say “see guys? T’Challa is still in the MCU”. I personally think the idea is convoluted and stupid and I know this idea is needlessly complicated. Personally I think it would be a lot easier to just drop a variant of T’Challa in the main timeline and call it a day but all this could have been avoided had they just took time to grieve then recast. But here we are. Smh.

Of the MCU timeline at least, which isn't really my jam.

I had fun with What If and some of the stories but at times it felt a little too flash and not enough substance, and I think they definitely had too much jokes in the zombie episode. But that's just me.

I just don't feel confident that they could deliver a cartoon on par with EMH again, or if they'd even consider it unless it starred the MCU Avengers.

They can if they’d just let creators do their own thing instead of just blatantly riding the MCU’s coattails as of recent. Heck BPQ May have been the last season of Avengers Assemble but Redjack gave it his all to make the season have its own identity.

zombies episode was like Thor Rag. Anytime anything serious happened that made you go "Woah" was immediately undercut with a joke, or a moment that was supposed to be serious was undercut with jokes (like zombie happy making shooting noises as he is approaching Sharon) that took the wind from the sails. This might be my own biased opinion because I only watched 3 episodes T'Challa-Lord, Eriks and zombies, but T'Challas felt the best, more of a complete story that paced itself correctly. And the others didn't do as good

Speaking of Star-Challa, let us be thankful that the makers of what if didn’t completely rule out continuing with the idea of giving him his own spin off. And since it’s animation you can get away with another guy playing T’Challa. Heck I’ve seen one guy named Arif Zahir (Azerrz) that can do a spot on impression of T’Chadwick.
