Recast T’challa is picking up big steam.

"Just a mantle" folks looking funny in the light for being loud af about which direction the franchise should take while also boiling down T’Challa to just a guy in a suit that’s interchangeable.

Wakanda forever is a wrap but maybe marvel will backtrack on the "you’ll never see him again" stance. Then we can get a real BP2 with T’challa

It’s so crazy how quickly things changed in comparison to this time last year.

Nate Moore's "5 minute convo" looks funny in the light when you do the #s. Not saying they wanted the out, not saying it would have been completely off the table, but they were ok with walking away. Not something to fight over.

It would breathe some new life into BP. Having a former Panther turn into a villain is writer's gold. Like BlackClaw mentioned, S'Yan could be BP's Winter Soldier and they could milk stories out of this like forever.

I'd call him Ghost Panther and his crew could be some Knights of Ren thing like MoS mentioned awhile back. This would launch some whole new isht.

I'd even play with the idea of Shuri kind of leaning/siding with S'Yan, being his tech person. Then we can see T'Challa and Shuri go head to head in some tech wars.

Only interesting thing Syan has ever done is get his ass beat by a non enhanced T'challa if we are being honest.

At least Rise gave him some character for once.
and get his leg blown off by Klaw.. man the old BP guard gets wrecked by Klaw.

S'Yan would be a nice twist though. And being enhanced it makes for a good fight that has implications. Regardless of the victor

"The problem is people can't separate the actor from the character, you can not agree with the actor but still like the character" on response to people not wanting Shuri to take the mantle... Oh the irony of that statement.

Plus the reason isn't just because of Letitias views but also in universe logistically it doesn't make sense either. No way to make her realistically take on the role without massive retcons or making T'Challa look bad since he trained his entire life and was BP for 10 years prior and still felt unsure, so to make Shuri grasp her responsibilities at the end of the movie and "step up" to the role just isn't genuine and would feel heavily forced

This doesn't make sense, Chad's agent said they negotiated him to make 20 Mill for the 3rd movie. I highly doubt he only made 700k and 500k for his debut and solo.

    (W) John Ridley (A) Juan Cabal (CA) Alex Ross
"THE LONG SHADOW" PART 2-T'Challa must act quickly to save his sleeper agents before they are assassinated! With the help of his sister, Shuri, he might be one step closer to the culprits...but is it too late? The assassins seem to always be one step ahead. And T'Challa better watch his back, for secrets lie everywhere...

Short and sweet by Eman right there.

It's funny that the white dude wants us to separate the actor from the character for Letitia Wright but he contradicted that exact same sentiment when it came to recasting Black Panther.

Exactly. But nobody wants to point out how incredibly flawed Ryan's writing was for the character. The general take away from the audience without any background knowledge was that black panther is a mantle and t'challa is just lucky that he was born into it first. With some walking away thinking Ryan's best friend Michael B Jordan was the real hero

Nuanced writing in the OG movie eats at your soul everyday. Sad. Hate it had to be you Ekie.
