"I got really scared a number of times Al Ewing started doing some of his stories. If anyone would find this it would be Al."

I like that. I like that his peers respect Al Ewing's attention to and exploration of continuity as much as I do.

So…. Read issue one of Devil’s Reign. The Fantastic Four are involved, but…spoilers:
it either takes place before Doom’s wedding or after Johnny is cured. But Franklin is blonde. So confusing as FF is the only book I read that connects (though the X-Men will be involved too). Definitely a lack of office coordination.
    end of spoilers

One of my favorite arcs, or runs. Impossible Man, Thundra and Tigra hang out. The Brute.

The disbandment - great story. All a plot by Doom. Fantastic, indeed.

Franklin is probably just a colorist's mistake.

I just wish they'd change it back to blonde, or maybe as he gets older he could lose the blonde and get more like his father's hair color. Some of my us in my family had very blonde hair as toddlers but it darkened as we became teens

    2) Johnny shouldn't have died.

    3) Doom's portrayal is ...bizarre to say the least.

I haven't read Life Story , but one thing that I'd like to see in FF is let Johnny grow up and not be the kid brother anymore.
Let Franklin be like what Johnny is now.

He grew up in the late 80s also getting married and later even leading a team. But marvel writers wanted "kid torch" back and reset him back to acting like a kid again.

    It's a shame too. I liked Hickman's Johnny.

Exactly! Families grow up and although people who act like kids often don't lose those traits, they manage to deal with the responsibilities of adulthood while still enjoying playing around. Johnny can be a man-child and still be a functioning adult. Franklin's just about the same age Johnny was at the space flight and can certainly be the dysfunctional teenage boy.

Franklin's being written with angst and rebellion. The path they have him headed on, he could become a villain.

Len Wein/Perez era Fantastic Four is among my favorites. I wish those three had stayed on longer than they did.
