If even a background player! It will of course be the usual suspects doing everything. It's definitely sad. I miss the days of Bishop being one of the core X-Men(those 90s scans posted earlier in the thread definitely got me nostalgic).

Yup, and it was hilarious to see 2 out of 4 great Captains...and Wolverine??? I guess the dude is like everywhere! Hell that's his real mutant power. It would be nothing to have Bishop included to do the job he's supposed to do anyway.

Bishop is basically a slot filler. He's there to fill a niche and have the occasional one or two liner. He'll appear in the background to give that touch of diversity but that's about it.

Marvel's Voices: Identity adds Whilce Portacio to its Asian and Pacific Islander celebration


The good news is that Filipino-American writer/artist Whilce Portacio is working on something for the anthology. Portacio is best known to Marvel fans for co-creating the Aboriginal Australian mutant Bishop as part of one of his memorable stints on the X-titles. Bishop's facial features were actually based on a fellow X-title alum, Larry Stroman.

It's unknown what Portacio is doing exactly for Marvel's Voices: Identity, but seems something to look forward to.

The most important thing is that having Bishop involved has no "agenda". Being a detective is all part of his history. If Bishop is not used, then these creators selectively read the stories from Claremont and GM from that era.

A choice creator should've had fun writing a murder/mystery/conspiracy series staring them, and a few other mutants, Gambit and Wisdom.
