I guess this is the Iceman, Bishop and Pyro story that I've been waiting for. I'm....cautiously optimistic? After so many issues, I don't really trust Duggan to actually care about these three. But when he does zero in on a character, like the Callisto issue, or Forge's appearance, it seems like he does a good job. We'll see, I guess.

Why does Pyro look like he's wearing Blackface?

Because a painted white skull on black makeup or a fitting dark skin tone creates the mystical or scary image of a living skeleton, while a black skull on a white skinned face creates the image of a white person with a black painted face or a serious case of skin discoleration.

It's still far removed from minstrel level blackface in my opinion, but it does really look awkward. Pyro is not the character who can pull of a skull face.

If he wanted a skull face he should have simply gone with a red fire protective mask and paint the black skull on it instead.

Issues ago, when Kate got her first knuckle tattoos, he got a face tattoo that was mostly a skull. I think it looks dumb.

I think they gave him the skull tattoo, to make it clear this is the other Pyro (Nor Simon, but the original). Honestly? I rather has Simon, as he has sexy history with Iceman.

I'd rather have original Pyro, I always found his character more interesting and Simon kinda bored me. They should just let original Pyro and Iceman bang, then we'd have plenty of sexual chemistry.
