Not sure how legit that source is, but it's saying to expect an April or May release date. Not as early as I was hoping for but would fit with the timeline of the new Foxe 97' prequel book coming out in March.

I was thinking March/April lately so this doesn't exactly surprise me, although it still feels to far away, especially without even a hint of a trailer hitting anytime soon...

The X-Men are back—and the ‘90s have never looked better!

Leading up to Marvel Studios’ X-Men ’97, coming soon to Disney+, the X-MEN ’97 comic—a 4-issue series created in close collaboration with the showrunners—will serve as a companion story to the television show. The series is written by Steve Foxe (DEAD X-MEN, DARK X-MEN) with art by Salva Espín.

In this official prelude, discover what Storm, Jubilee, Wolverine, and the rest of the beloved '90s X-Men cast have been up to in the time before their return! Startling revelations here lead directly into the hotly anticipated new series—fans won’t want to miss out!

On writing the series, Steve Foxe said, "There's a very good chance I wouldn't be writing comics today if not for the impact X-Men: The Animated Series had on me as a kid—heck, the voice actors from the show are still the voices I hear when I read the comics today!”

Foxe continued, "Getting to reunite with my X-MEN '92: HOUSE OF XCII collaborator Salva Espín on this official prelude to X-Men '97 has felt like a bucket-list project a lifetime in the making, and Beau [DeMayo] and the rest of the '97 team gave us a fantastic runway to come up with our own original tale that feeds right into what viewers will get to experience in the new season."

I hope Professor X at some point will be a presence.....its just doesn't feel quite the same if he isn't involved with his xmen in some way this an era before the xavier as villian trope which I miss....a flawed man(not unlike a great many others) to be sure but still one whose heart was in the right place rather then the disaster he has been turned into since

Perhaps these will be sold in magazine section of super markets for 2 bucks, so a good chunk of the potential viewership for the sequel season, especially the kids, might actualy know these exist at all and buy them?

There is nothing wrong with a companion comic, but it needs to be released and marketed differently than the regular ones.

    Wow! Only April/March?

The anticipation is killing me. Well, ate least things are starting to get more concrete. I hope we get a trailer and some new art esrly next year at least.

And I really hope they don’t release only one season per year. I hope we’ll get the second season by the end of 2024. Fingers crossed.
A picture would last longer darling...

It's not the 90's anymore, despite the title LOL

I was actually surprised we got as many as 10, I was expecting 8.

Jean could fill that role and still go on missions. it is time for Jean to shine.

I remember hearing something that he evolves (or perhaps is changed by Sinister?), but he now has the Morph look.
