Its unfortunate because comics, the source material, is my passion. It was always cool to meet other comic fans and discuss things happening in the books. Now everyone is an expert because they watched two hours of MCU footage.
I like 1993 Static. He's dope. I'll always prefer characters like Virgil to Miles. No offense Miles Morales fans.
Its clear what they are setting up with the guy on the right. So the movie is following the Batman v Superman format except instead of Superman its Lois Lane and Perry White.

Does anyone think that a good way to revamp Sombre is to let him control diseases and microbes in addition to the corrosive touch he already has?

I don't think it's that much different, if it is at all. There are many, many problems in how black characters are handled in superhero comics, but this isn't one of them. Even Coates's T'Challa didn't have it as bad as Batman under Tom King.
Iron Man's current series has calling in War Machine, Misty Knight, Hellcat, Ben Reilly and a bunch of others. In the movies, he never defeats the villain by himself.
In the films, Captain America needs help from no less than 3 people in each of his solo movies.
Green Arrow and Flash need entire superhero teams on their solo shows.
