I believe Geoffrey Thorne could overtake them all
He's already shown that he can do a bang up job on BP in comics and animated.

If they don't want him on the 616 BP then give him a Marvel MAX series and let him go to work.

Then set that character up future CM/WM legacy we get in alternative universes..
That is some daytime TV soap opera drama right there. It wasn't making sense when I read it.

S Tier (best characterization): Priest, McDuffie (in FF), Lee/Kirby (same).
A Tier (best feats): Hudlin, Liss, Aaron (SWAD only). Redjack.
B Tier (best worldbuilding): McGregor, Hickman.
C Tier (just sort of there): Kirby solo, Roy Thomas, Gillis, Narcisse, Aaron (Avengers).
D Tier (could have been better): Mayberry
F Tier (Bast, no) Coates & his friends.

It's too early to place Ridley.

Two issues in and Ridley's better than Coates & Co. and Maberry.

If you look outside of the comics-all those folks including Shuri have been showcased as themselves way more than the other.

Dick got way more material as Nightwing than Batman. So folks would understand that being a temporary gig.

In Jaime's case-the public never got to see Ted Kord. Especially a fleshed out Ted Kord.

Same issue with Green Lantern when John Stewart was on JL-Hal was MIA from the public since 1986. So from Lebron to Caleb (Lucas of Stranger Things) generations only saw John Stewart.

Same issue with Monica-who was Cap Marvel. Yet folks only see Carol. Then with her-who sees her as Ms Marvel? Nobody since Kamala showed up.
I’ve been saying that Shuri could be Marvels Nightwing if Marvel goes all in on her griot identity. Just give her a bunch of magical rogues to fight. Hell I think Tetu and Zenzi work as villains for her rather than T’Challa in the story for a possible video game universe I’ve been thinking of.

Have you watched Panther quest yet? I think that will change your placement of RJ

That was his magnum opus regarding Black Panther. Though I honestly liked the way he wrote the rivalry between T’Challa and Nighthawk in his Avengers run.

No, but I was focusing on the comics. Cartoons are a different sort of writing.

Dick's the fourth character DC created in the 40s. Even before Wonder Woman. He's been Nightwing since the 80s. He's been Batman twice. But the second time he was Batman, DC really made him Batman. He was running the Justice League. All the Bat-books and making cameos left andright. Plus, they gave him Batman-level respect. He was whooping everyone left and right. So it was weird when they made him Nightwing again and wrote him like this B-lister that has trouble holding his own in the New 52 and other issues. Short term it was great for Dick but long term it felt like a demotion because of how DC treats its "other" characters.

Kids might not know Ted Kord, but regular DC readers before 2006 knew who he was. The difference was he was the second Blue Beetle, and DC kept him dead. If you kill off a non-Alister and replace him with someone better, it makes a difference. Plus, Ted Kord doesn't stand out that much. He's a genius crime-fighter with gadgets. No powers. Doesn't have a stellar origin. They gave Jaime Reyes a great origin and powerset. He stands out.

Hal Jordan would have been gone if not for a huge collective effort made by Johns and Didio. They Dark Vader'd the character, and there are so many Green Lanterns now. Hal's not even the first Green Lantern. And now there is this division among Green Lantern fans about the Lantern they want. Most people play nice, but usually, someone has a favorite they prefer.

When I hear Captain Marvel, I still think of Billy Batson. All the Marvel versions are secondary thoughts.

Take out 3 pages in his career that only T'challa fans remember and he'd be vying for number 1 panther writer in regards to "actually respects the character"

Those three pages were.... so bad though lol

Just crossing my fingers he ends this "Tchalla as Avengers Lead" in a way that is bad ass. then i'll erase my memory of those 3 pages and pretend they never happened.
