Not saying that the premise of the story itself wasn't forced and stupid...XoS was contrived, bloated crap from the start but...in the context of the issue and what it was mandated to do, it accomplished just that.
Storm goes to Wakanda. Politely asks for the sword. Is denied for dumb reason. She steals it, knowing the consequence of doing so. Is caught by Shuri. They fight. Storm wins. T'Challa shows up at the very end conveniently. Trust ruined. The end. Keep in mind that up until that point no one knew that skybreaker existed...it didn't. So yeah, contrived AF. Funnily enough the article she’s responding to has a comment by Chadwick’s niece saying that the role should be recast. Making that two members of the Boseman family that supports recasting. Something’s gotta give.

What people keep forgetting is they already had a story plot out when these book were written and it changed. Drama was supposed to be between wakanda and krakoa. Storm was supposed to have a kid that’s supposed to come back for the other world. That brings wakanda and krakoa together. But all that changed that’s why nothing make sense. It’s either they’re keeping that story in a back pocket because the virus she had could of still been a kid or, they’re going with a different story .

Just finished Avengers Forever.

It’s interesting how Jason Aaron absolutely gets it regarding T’Challa.

He positions T’Challa as THE Black Panther and he’s the center of the story of modern day Wakanda. Not Shuri, not Storm but T’Challa himself. I’d much rather see him takeover the book again compared to the mediocrity we are saddled with now.

Most writers do.

You know what would be a really cool follow up to Ridley's story? Of a writers l had T'Challa say "Alright, you guys want to govern yourself? You guys think the Monarch was in place just for fun? Have fun then" and peaces out.

And then show Wakanda just get it's isht rocked because they thought that a Democracy would solve all problems until they realize that because of how Wakanda is operated and what they have no idea how they actually want to run Wakanda, then when it Looks like they are going to be conquered, Shuri, who's been watching on the sidelines and keeping T'Challa up to date, calls him and he comes in and shows WHY they had a King and BP. Because they are elite's among the Elites. And have the strength, knowledge, will and wisdom to be worthy to lead.

And it's not until they basically beg him to come back that he does

Yeah, they need to realize that a lot of the things they enjoy and a lot of protection they have is because of T'Challa.

yea BP fans deserve way better than this and if that means storm makes a permanent exit from the bp mythos so be it. however that said, once she is gone you still have to contend with not so great writing from Ridley. how much more out of character can he write tchalla. his voice he obviously hasn't captured. so im not sure how this will all end guys and that is unfortunate for his fandom.

At this point, whatever is in the BP solo currently is NOT BP/Tchalla ....not since Hickman's event.

I said I'd accept mediocre this run.

Mediocre to me is:

- T'challa is the focus
- T'challa sounds like T'challa
- T'challa has his basic powers (enhanced strength, speed, agility)
- T'challa has his basic tech (vib weave)
- T'challa has his basic abilities (polymath, master fighter, strategist)
- There is a beginning, middle, end of a story in 6-12 issues.

Apparently asking my favorite character to be the focus of a book, sound like himself, act like himself... is impossible these days.

This Ridley is MULTITUDES OF INFINITY below bottom trash at this point. C'mon serious how do u think this rubbish reaches the level of mediocre?

At this point, whatever is in the BP solo currently is NOT BP/Tchalla ....not since Hickman's event.

Hickman wrote a good TChalla. Really got the voice right. And didn’t shy away from making him overtly powerful.

There's really nothing good to talk about as far as T'Challa goes unless it's to revisit past stories.
