Is it any colder than what was done to Bumblebee & Herald when 80s Teen Titans started?
Never saw them get married.
Got separated in Doom Patrol
Herald gets nuked and is babysitting the baby while Mom was out being a hero.
Other Side of DC Universe showed more respect to them in ONE issue than the previous 50 years of them being around.
Prodigy & Surge?
Synch & Monet & Jubliee?
Alex Wilder & Nico?
Mettle & Hazmat?
Rhodey and his baby momma that we NEVER got to see.
Static & Frieda-EVERYONE has gone out of their way to bury her.
Amazing Man 3 & Maxima
Superboy & Natasha Irons
Chuck Clayton and Nancy Woods. Reboot Archie exiled Chuck and no new Archie book has shown them as a couple unlike Nancy & Ginger
Betty and ANY black guy-Valerie's brother and Dexter (Archie made him white and FIRED the writer over it)
I wouldn't oppose T'Challa and Monica. Blue Marvel seemed like an out of the blue pairing for her, but maybe it's because I just haven't been able to find Blue Marvel interesting no matter how hard I try.
Ignoring black male relationships with other women. Blue Marvel and Monica (she'll always be MY Captain Marvel), Brother Voodoo and Scarlet Witch, Carol and Rhodey (I'd love to see that in the MCU but I won't hold my breath), Synch and Monet (I thought that was a case of one is never alive when the other is LOL).
There's more examples (not touching DC at the moment sticking to Marvel) but its kinda silly at this point. But if no one calls them out on it why NOT double down?
I remember in the other thread Redjack had a bunch of ideas for what he would do, up to and including an in-franchise LI. Alas.
I mean, he did call her a sun goddess and put that game on back in Hudlin days... Plus it gives more attention to other Black female characters and elavates them. And spectrum fans would like to see her doing something other than sitting idle on Adams underground lab. Lol
Yeah it happened after Thanos punched ahold in Rhodeys chest and she felt guilty because it was her plan. But Adam? It would of been nice if it were T'Challa instead, but at the same time this was When Coates was writing and his hatin ass was all about Storm. Now? Maybe there's a chance, I guess it depends on what Ridley does.
