I think Omolola is meant to be unlikable. Probably to make us confused about whether she’s working with the villains or not. She’s so blatantly antagonistic that it seems almost too obvious for her to be the traitor but on the other hand it’s very easy to see how she could turn against T’Challa with her attitude. Omolola’s main thing here is creating the sense that T’Challa can’t trust his own people. I don’t think she’s being written as rude to make her seem cool, if anything I think we’re meant to see her as kind of a nuisance, that’s what T’Challa sees her as.

The fact T’Challa isn’t even really trying to engage with her like that (didn’t want her on the mission, completely dismissive of her jabs) is more than enough for me. He had zero issues resolving to kill her and could’ve done so with ease, he’s not afraid to “lay down the law”on his people when it matters.

Omolola is a disgruntled employee who hates her job, this isn’t like Backhand Barry interrupting T’Challa’s convo w/ Shuri during an invasion lol. T’Challa should be secure enough in himself and his decisions that characters calling out his trust issues shouldn’t require him pulling rank. Ridley seems to write T’Challa as aloof, if dude is saying “Wakandan democracy can sort itself out, I’m going to Mars” I can’t imagine him being upset that some spy is mad she couldn’t see her boyfriend.

The problem is how it's going executed, disgruntled or not Tchalla doesn't let ANYONE talk to him that way, close friend or not. It's not badass imo to let someone talk isht and just ignore it and then occasionally have some line of "Your not that good" as a counter to something they said to you, before which they literally said the same thing.

I need him pulling rank, but from the get go he should of been way more like "To you disobeyed two direct orders from me, and you want me to trust you? Step off" nothing about her tagging along makes sense, and her attitude is none he wouldn't tolerate

It worked out with Priest.

A writer doesn't need to like a character to write them well. In fact, some of thd worst stories were done by writers liked the characters.

Priest is a professional, Priest also started to like the character when he started researching and understanding that Roy Thomas version was isht and that TChalla had a lot to offer.
Redjack is another Tchalla appreciator and someone who should of had his shot a long time ago

I guess for me it's just an old trope that gets old. Showing Black women as constantly complaining while Black men ignore them.
