Seriously, why are they written as different deities? The Tiger God is damn-near perfect.

Because at the time Bast was missing in Coates run and Ewing is 100% devoted to canon.

But yeah, I agree, that was the best use of any god in the BP mythos. Whole thing was pretty cool

Lol, you know at this point i would have absolutely no issue if T'Challa said the hell with all of it, left Wakanda, Shui, and Bast. Let him be a better avatar of the Tiger God. I read that story and loved it. Too short if you ask me. Even more of a bad ass feat was that T'Challa involked him to help in that battle.

Seriously, are there no strong male characters in Wakanda apart from T’Challa for Marvel to highlight?
It's because they need to have a cover so that its not too obvious what they are doing. "We want to explore the rich characters introduced from the first movie" we got M'Baku, Okoye, Nakia, Shuri, Ramonda, Ayo, W'Kabi, Klaue, Zuri and Erik, with T'Challa returning. Out of the 11, 3 are dead, and one is in prison, and the T'Challa is likely going to die as well. The 5 whom are all male characters. For the sequel they are adding another female character, possibly Aneka, and then Riri, whom is potentially playing a bigger role than initial reports, and Namor.

So out of the cast of 11, 5 males are gone and they are adding in 2 additional characters whom are female... Of course this ain't a coincidence. It's very blatant.

I would not be surprised, since T'Challa is out of the picture and the anchor, they just start taking all types of liberties with the story (that will inevitably synergize with the comics) and start heavily pushing these characters and insinuating that they can band will not only persevere without T'Challa, but actually THRIVE as well. M'Baku will likely get pushed heavily into the comic relief side and be a goof ball character, while the women are all business and serious.

And unlike with the first movie, where folk's were going hard saying the movie better not show Black dysfunction and black men vs black women, they will likely be strangely silent or worse, shower it with praise saying ignorant things like "Finally a a movie that will showcase strong Black women who can take care of business and don't need a man to save them" or other things along those lines.

Then they will start attacking anyone who has legitimate complaints about the movie not only removing T'Challa from his own franchise, but also removing all the strong male characters as well, and ignoring how the first movie balanced both and made both men and women shine.

The only other time I see Bast as good was when she ate shadow King in worlds apart. But even then there's a catch that she had to look like isht first. But the bite was cool...

I think Hollywood in general don't want strong black male characters and they'll guilt trip black men into supporting it by saying how are sisters are oppressed and how we have to support them and blah blah blah. It's sad what's happening to the Black Panther franchise.

They will likely point to Maga Costume Falcon and tell us to follow him instead

Agreed, however I believe that this will all come out in the wash. I feel that audiences, in particular our folk will not only notice the bait and switch. The talk about Finn from TFA, and the Last Jedi in black social media was very noticeable. Box office aside, I think that Marvel will know word of mouth will potentially help dip, if not sink this follow up film.

    Exactly this.

The only brother that plays bad-ass action roles nowadays is Denzel Washington and he's near 70.

And I mean he’s god tier when it comes to acting. That’s how good you have to be to get those roles and have them see the light of day as a black male.
