I'm not entirely convinced it is really just a retread. For starters, Stark gave his money away to protect the world. And he sold his business years ago. He hasn't been a businessman in years. And he hasn't even been a broad market dividend investor in months. Both of these were conscious decisions to devote himself to protecting people. That's a huge difference from having these things taken from him.
Second, there is a heavy implication that he hasn't actually fallen off the wagon, but has suffered some sort of attack designed to make it appear that he has fallen off the wagon. So his "recovery" should be much faster this time, since it is not so much him falling off the wagon as being healed from some sci-fi attack.
Basically, it's a story designed to make it look like same-old, same-old, but which is intended to have a twist where it really isn't same-old, same-old.
So I'm inclined to give the whole thing a few issues. If I'm wrong and this really is just a retread, well three issues isn't that big a price to pay for my optimism.
